It didn’t take long after the Justice Department dropped the sweeping corruption case against embattled New York City Mayor Eric Adams for political and legal observers to weigh in on social media.
The new development came Monday when a senior Trump administration DOJ official turned Adams’ criminal prosecution on its head when he ordered government attorneys to withdraw the charges.
But the swift dismissal of the case – less than a month after Donald Trump returned to the White House – didn’t pass the smell test with social media users, with many calling out Adams for cozying up to the president in recent weeks.
“This isn’t justice,” Democratic strategist Chris D. Jackson wrote on his X account. “This is corruption in plain sight. The rule of law is officially dead.”
So NYC elected a cop, who proceeded to act just like a cop.

As a veteran, I remain 100% convinced that the Pentagon has and has always had a plan for "a dictator becomes president." However, also as a veteran I'm sure there is a very specific checklist of things that must be true for that plan to be activated.
As a low ranking veteran I don't have any better guess than anyone else what things are on that checklist, but I feel sure it exists, and that if we aren't seeing them mobilize it's only because it's an extreme event and the conditions required to execute on that plan are many.
I spent the entire SB waiting for the halftime show for that very reason. I caught some of it, my environment was too noisy for some of it. But when I heard his opening line about the revolution being televised I knew it was going to be what I was hoping for.

Every time I see an article like this, I go check old.shittyplace.com/r/conservative and see nothing but Trump cheerleaders. When the tide starts to change there, I'll believe they might have gained a spark of awareness.
The playing chicken is already done. Now we're in the car while it's flipping end over end, but still sniping at each other about who should have been driving.
No argument from me, but I have a suspicion that being old is going to be a third rail politically during the next general election, assuming we get one and that it resembles being a free and valid election in any way.
