I'm trying to selfhost some Lemmy communities just for fun :)

Buddhist, researcher, FOSS, Linux, selfhosting enthusiast, plantbased, anarchism and MLM interested.

Trying to be nice. I really dislike the Reddit style aggressive comments. If you are rude I will block and ban you.

  • Yes but it wasn’t my only job. I was fine at work, boss was nice, one nice coworker, one annoying one. Then he asked us to go to a convention. Well they were both horrible to me those couple days so I just stopped talking to my coworkers. The day I left I just walked out and didn’t say anything.

    Boss ended up being rude too. I had asked for a raise after working there for many years as one of the earliest employees and the most underpaid and he ignored me twice.

  • My father and I had the same name which one part derives from a distant relative. He told me for ten plus years that I was the nth of that name when it really was just us. I had been so proud! Really mean trick on a child.

  • Also makes me think of my father’s story from playing football in college. The toilets were facing each other with no stalls so men setup a table and played chess as they pooped. Simpler times.

  • Some places in China still have the shitter trough. Pro tip is to sit upstream or else it all goes by you. Last time I went in one of though was in a smaller* town’s bus station. Still cracks me up that two uncles were both using it and one of them got up and turned to the other and said 慢慢拉. This phrase is typically used for something like 慢慢来 to mean take your time but he used it to say poo slowly or take your time pooing. Makes it even better that these squat stalls on the trough were like four feet tall so when you stand up you can see everyone.
