  • The creepy clan, nicknamed the Addams Family, appeared in 58 of Addams' strips in the 1950s. They were very popular and, by the early 1960s, were even inspiring merchandise. The matriarch of the family, Morticia, and her daughter Wednesday were first given names for a little-known doll line released in 1962. 

    The public appears to have liked them, however not everyone at the New Yorker (where the strip was published) did.

    It seems that editor William Shawn hated the "Addams Family" sitcom so much (mainly for its "low" humor) that he banned Chas Addams from drawing any more Family cartoons. The ban remained in place from 1964 until Shawn's departure in 1987.

    Very. Look at this week's, where instead of disciplining Pugsley for attempting to poison his sister, her solution is for Wednesday to go tit for tat and poison Pugsley.

    Or last week, where Gomez and Morticia were aghast that Pugsley had joined Scouting.

    As far as reception, I have only heard positive things about the show, and movies. There are some strips that are fairly out there, especially the Christmas ones... which I will start to post in late November.

    When the show Wednesday came out there was an uproar because main stream was used to Raul Julia's (and to a lesser extent John Astin) handsome Gomez. So when Luis Guzmán was revealed as the new Gomez, who looks far more like the homely Gomez of the strips, people cried foul.

  • It depends on how much time and energy I have. Usually I make my pizza from scratch, including the cheese, sauce, and dough. Other times I grab a frozen pizza that is on sale.

    I also make my own Mac and cheese from scratch, but sometimes I get the boxed stuff.
