Holy false equivalency Batman. There is a vast difference between hunting and torturing animals. It is a case where intent and what that one approaches the task has a substantial bearing on the individual's likelihood of anti-social personality disorder. An ethical hunter shows respect to the animal that they kill by doing their best to minimize suffering (this includes things like choice of weapon as well as ensuring that any game that they shoot it's tracked down so that they didn't suffer needlessly).
Do some people with anti-social personality disorder hunt? Yes. Some of them also eat at Wendy's. You sound like you're trying to invent a way to make yourself "better than" a large swath of people. I'd suggest that you practice some self-reflection.
I say this as someone who does not hunt but previously worked on a small poultry farm where I had to slaughter as well as euthanize animals. I've seen what good and bad quality of life does to animals. Ignoring the plight of factory farmed animals does not make you a better person.

That would be wonderful. The current way that the world has been "working" for a good while now makes me think it unlikely, unfortunately. The vast majority of technological innovation in the last half-century has been used to extract wealth and replace options available to the non-ultra-wealthy with inferior substitutes that are cheaper to make, often for the same effective cost.

Oof. Mine's just under half that and I get that exactly. Went to replace an outdoor step about a month ago, just to discover that the deck wasn't built to code and will need to be replaced. Everything is like that, either because the previous owner cut corners or the place is just old (like doorframes being out of square and changing by how much with the season).
Seeing the other comments here, definitely make sure that they are suitable for your walls. What works well for drywall, might be terrible for lath and plaster walls.
😯 Oh no! I'm so used to dry-wall/gypsum board that I forget that lath and plaster exists.
I'm not super familiar (just DIY) but, I think that you can make a patch that's structural enough to take a new anchor. Definitely would need to be sure that there's enough lath for our to hold onto and likely would want some fiberglass mesh tape to reinforce it.
Looks to be a bit of a pain (cleaning hole corners, using patching plaster and bonding agent, waiting for cure, etc). However, if done right, I think it would be sturdier than a typical patch in drywall.
Do consult someone who knows about the stuff though, like a professional plaster person or builder.
