    Fenri really likes to cuddle with us and if he understands, that a hand belongs to us, he won't use claws - both of the actuallyThat my feet also belong to me is a bit harder to understand it seems ;⁠-⁠)

    And when they want to climb us, they obviously use their claws, but as it is quite hot at the moment and I'm often not wearing trousers, they seem to be a bit more carefulLike in my jogging trousers, they smash their claws in hard and climb, but with my naked skin, they're much more gentle and just try to come up - and I need to help them

    Anti matter and matter live inside the space, that dark matter is "producing"

    At least that's my layman interpretation of looking at some videos and reading some stuff

    Tried to refactor a spaghetti code state machine and thought, well, AI should handle this well. All the logic is there, just separate it into small functions to clean up the large one.

    None was able to, alone because of the context window already

    To be fair though, I tried Mistral online and it also stumbled around. ChatGPT was a complete clusterfuck - haven't tried Claude.

    To be even fairer... it's a really large state machine, which was written on site during a fever and in stress - so... To defend myself a bit as well, how it even came to that ;⁠-⁠)

    But seems, I'll need to go through this myselfActually thought, that this would be a perfect example for using AI...

    I'll try to though :⁠-⁠)At least I'll give updates on their bigger steps

    Talking of steps, mother showed me, that Fenri had some problems walkingWhich in itself was rather cute (she called me in the nest, waited for them to be in my arms and then moved away a bit to only call Fenri over)I saw, that he was doing frog legs and couldn't get his ass up.Which happens, when they grow too fast.

    So, we started some physiotherapy with him, by providing a stable hand to push against, when he wanted to stand up - and sometimes gently corrected the position of his feet. During that mother was holding back Schlomo, so we could actually do some work.

    After 4 sessions (1,5 days) he started to show off and proudly walked around :⁠-⁠)

    Now I need to give Schlomo more attention, because he started to just lay with his mother.So I told her yesterday, that we also need to take care of him.After that, she was letting them take turns with me and both had their time.

    I'm still so fucking amazed of the intelligence of the mother, who is a stray, and we needed to teach her and play and everything.But she is a fast learner and seems to understand every word

    Ok, I've told this story now already in Lemmy 2 or 3 times.But it was such a success, I just can't stop talking about it o⁠:⁠-⁠)

  • Thanks :⁠-⁠)I was very reluctant to even pick them up in the first place.But they were sneezing sometimes and vet told me to weigh them daily then.

    I wasn't sure, if Fenri/red one was just more open to being picked up, but at their checkup the vet picked him up and he was fighting with everything he got.Vet and assistant even discussed, if it is really already possible for him to hiss.

    I did the obvious move and said completely cool, to just hand him to me, while they finish their checkup with the rest.I was so prepared, that I was falling on my mouth by being so cool, but the second he touched my hand, he calmed down and cuddled with his head on my thumb.

    That really completely broke my heart.Had tears in my eyes then ;⁠-⁠)

  • I'm trying my best o⁠:⁠-⁠)They're just in their dark room - chosen by the mother, because my perfectly built cat cave with blankets was seemingly to exposed.

    And it's very dark in the room and I will not use a flash on eyes, that have never seen the sunlight.

    So it's hard to get good pictures.Especially I'm currently alone with them. But my wife comes back from her business trip tomorrow night, and then I'll hopefully have a hand free - currently I'm missing one, as mother and both little ones demand attention...

    Vet told us to start weighing them about 1,5 weeks ago. I picked up Fenri/little red one and he immediately curled up on my hand and fell asleep.Was really hard to actually put him on the scale ;⁠-⁠)

    And, the mother cat was saved by my neighbour, who still has a special place in her heart.They belong together and we will make that work out.

    If we can emotionally manage to keep a kitten, will depend on their behaviour and how good we can handle it.Losing our loved cat just a bit more than a year ago still leaves us with quite some unprocessed feelings.Helping this family is very therapeutic though.

  • Yeah, I had a cat, that knew it's boundaries and we have chosen a apartment on the first floor on purpose - if anything still happens

    I just talked with my wife about it today, but in her (mother cat) current mood, she's would probably start climbing the net, which wouldn't give me much trust either

    She is very well behaved, especially for being a stray, and I only have to tell her once and then she stops doing the stupid thing - like jumping on the kitchen counter, which could be dangerous

    I actually think, for the first steps, I'll go with her in the stairway and gardenSo maybe with that, she doesn't have the urge anymore to try herself out on the balcony

    But yeah, I'm currently not sure what to do.I actually don't like those nets and I know, she'll start to climb them.If something happens there, it's a sudden loss of control and nothing I can prepare her for

    I ... I'll make my mind up, when the emotions are a bit more settled

    Although a few days old, it's hard to have a good one without us on them - and especially without them moving too much in the dark nest room
