  • I use a Synology NAS and use Synology photos. I've also heard good things about immich and would probably use that if I didn't have a Synology.

  • There will probably be no consequences anyways.

    Absolutely fucking wild.

  • Haha ... Man ... That's really how it be these days.

  • Man, Synology has really gotten worse every year.

  • Yeah it's basically like Reddit and it's interoperable with Lemmy and Mbin.

Maybe just imagine them as different ways to view the same content and they each offer their own features.

But essentially they are the Reddit replacement of the fediverse.

  • Too damn LOW.

Edit: I'd like to clarify. I meant the disapproval needs to be higher!

  • I dunno.

    Say some shit lol.

  • I got the Plex lifetime pass over 10 years ago for pretty cheap and Plex has served me well over the years. But it's just so damn bloated now and the biggest recent change to their android app is atrocious. The app is so laggy and slow now. And downloading movies to watch locally on a tablet is just painful.

So I decided to start experimenting with Jellyfin this month and I am blown away at how fast and snappy everything is. It still isn't as refined as Plex but there's something to be said about privacy and using FOSS apps.

I'll be using Jellyfin going forward now.

  • It feels like the fediverse is more important than ever with all that's going on.

  • The decay has been going for awhile now.

  • Came over to the 'threadiverse' after the whole API fiasco. It's been generally great. I do wish there were more users/content over here. But I think that will come with time.

  • I do generally wish there was more content. So I've decided to start actively participating rather than lurking more recently.

  • Nice

  • It doesn't matter.

  • This is generally their solution to everything these days lol

  • Came here to say this and saw this comment.

    This is the correct answer.

  • I used Linux on and off since 2009?

But it was mostly just for work. I never really converted until proton came about. It made gaming viable on Linux and really provided a way to use Linux everyday.

  • Jaleel White is forever Steve Urklel.

    Alfonso Ribeiro is Carlton.

  • I've switched over to Wayland this year and it's been pretty good. I haven't really had any major problems.
