  • The printer company is Procolored. The original article has the crappy clickbaity headline rhat was shared here. It's my preference not to deal with clickbaity headlines in my feeds. If i bothered to read an article with a clickbaity headline and thought it was worth sharing, I'd give my share an appropriate headline to make it more palatable to others.

  • I use xBrowserSync for bookmark syncing. The code hasnt been touched in a few years but it still works great. Set it and forget it. There's also an android app - not sure about ios.

    But it doesnt do browser tabs - just bookmarks.

  • I've heard numerous recommendations of both sabre and radicale, but ive never used them. I use baikal for both contacts and calendars. It's simple and it works well.

  • The only problem I've had with Bitwarden is their recent UI retool which ended up causing a huge ruckus among the user base to the point where they gave an option to switch back.

    I think the new UI is pretty terrible. I didn't know until you mentioned it, irmadlad@lemmy.world, that there was an option to revert. I can't find it in the settings - how does one revert to the prior UI?

    Unscrambling 5 letter words is a bit simple, though. Will there be longer words? Or maybe how quickly you do it could make it more challenging - and in that sense,maybe other word scrambles aren't revealed until you solve the first?

  • I've had canon, HP, and brother inkjets - dislike them all (though hate HP as a company worse than the others.). Finally I bought a Xerox color laser printer (and scanner, etc) and really like it. Part of the enshittification is the world of inkjet ink, but part is also the companies.

  • I used vaultwarden just the other day for this purpose. I mean, I use vaultwarden daily as a password manager, but it also has secure file transfer.

  • I use hstr. It binds to

    <Ctrl>

    -r and lists your command history similar to bash's biilt-in tool, but it adds live filtering: type a couple characters of the command you're looking for and the list filters to only those and colors the characters. It's quite good. And you can use arrow keys to navigate the list.

    is it possible to make an instance on lemmy that is a mirror of reddit, basically what ever posts there are on reddit can be mirrored on separate that instance, this allows for backup &less censorship
