It's really weird to elect a supreme court justice.
President Camacho was actually a great president. He didn't seem to be abusing the office for any kind of personal gain. He was an inspiring public speaker. He listened to the voters, he tried to find the smartest person and appoint him so that he'd solve the problems facing the USA, he let the genius try out his solution even though it seemed absurd, and only ordered him to be executed when it only made the situation worse. Also, once the problems were solved, he left office without any complaints.
I watched it again recently, and the thing that really stood out for me was Camacho's speeches compared to Trump's. I think if they re-made Idiocracy today, they'd have to make Camacho sound a lot more stupid in those speeches. Trump has lowered the bar so much.
If Trump is still in charge when the bubble pops, he'll do everything he can to bail them out. Altman knows how to flatter people, and he's doing that constantly with Trump. A significant part of Trump's base is silicon valley techbros who will lose their shirts if the bubble collapses. They had enough sway to get their guy installed as the VP. Getting a bailout will be easy for them. If they get poor, they won't be able to fund the MAGA movement.
Even if Trump isn't in charge anymore. Businesses that have fired a lot of employees and replaced what they did with LLM slop will say their businesses will be ruined if the bubble suddenly pops, so they'll frame it as the economy collapsing if the LLM bubble is allowed to pop. Not to mention they'll claim it's a national security matter because if American LLMs disappear the only ones left will be Chinese ones, and that would be a threat to national security. The fact that the military is extensively using LLMs in their bombing of Iran shows how integrated they now are into the way the military does things, and you can't ask the military to just go back to how things were done 5 years ago!
I expect that when the LLM bubble starts to pop, there will be enormous bailouts from the government, adding tens of trillions to the US debt. That's a long-term thing and will be someone else's problem.
And because they can frame it as being a national security issue because otherwise China's LLMs will dominate.

It's more "I want to continue to hallucinate in the super useful way that all humans normally do, and not fuck up my brain so that useful hallucination of reality gets knocked out of whack."
A series of still images, if the frame rate is fast enough, appears to us as smooth motion. Our eye can only focus on a tiny spot at any given time, but our brain fills in the rest of the visual field as if it's high res based on the last time we glanced somewhere, some extrapolation and interpolation, etc. We're somehow able to pull the sound of someone's voice out of a crowd of noises and ignore all the irrelevant sounds to hear what someone's saying. And then these sounds get somehow directly translated to words and concepts in our head. And if you're looking at someone in the face as they're talking, you can read emotions there, instead of just seeing a wrinkly slab of meat with some wet spheres near the top and some disgusting wet holes below. That's all "hallucination" in some way. But, it's all incredibly useful.
I know that 99% of the time if someone takes hallucinogens they come back to reality just fine. Sometimes the trip even makes them feel better. But, is it really worth messing with your brain's delicate and super useful hallucination of the world around you?

For what it's worth, successfully removing Trump using the 25th amendment would be much harder than impeaching him and removing him.
Impeachment and removal requires only a majority in the house, then a 2/3rds majority in the senate. That 2/3rds is almost impossible unless there are huge defections from the MAGA side.
The 25th requires first that Vance and the majority of Trump's cabinet declare that he's unfit. That's going to be a massive hurdle already because he's packed his cabinet with people who are loyal above anything else, including competence. If you managed that, all it would take for Trump to resume being president was that he declared he was capable of resuming the job. He'd be tweeting that out within the hour. To override that would require a 2/3rds vote in both the house and the senate. So all the barriers that exist to impeachment and more.
The 25th was designed for a case when the president was dead or dying. It's also handy in cases where the president has to undergo surgery and will be medically sedated for a while. It was never designed to take power away from a madman, at least not from one who was sane enough to resist in any way.
I disagree about the vows. Really big, expensive weddings suck. But, the ceremony that isn't individualized should be minimized as much as possible.
If you're going to make a vow that you want to be with someone for the rest of your life, the reason shouldn't be "it's just how things are done". It should be why you're making such a momentous decision about decades of your life. If there's generic paperwork to be done after that, then do it. But, don't make the generic paperwork the focus of the ceremony.
Musk is much more of an Edison than a Tesla. If he'd been honest he would have named his cars Edison. Then, the cool rebadge could have been Tesla. But, even he was smart enough to realize what an asshole Edison was, even if he didn't recognize the Edison in himself.
It seems like there's a market for a company that will buy Teslas ultra cheap, modifies them heavily, then rebadges them like Alpine does for Renault, AMG does / did for Mercedes, Abarth for Fiat, etc.
These days those are all subsidiaries of the main brand, and even before that they had a cooperative relationship with the main brand. But, I can imagine a setup where the main brand doesn't support or approve of what the modifier company does.
I think with a lot of these health trends, it doesn't take account for the fact that humans are animals.
Animals can't always guarantee they'll get enough water, or enough food, or the right kinds of food. Bodies aren't like a machine that requires specifically calibrated amounts of inputs. Instead if you drink too much you'll pee out more. If you drink too little your pee will be more concentrated so your body retains more liquid. If you get more nutrients than you need, the extra will be eliminated.
It's probably true that with many things (except calories) it's better to get a bit too much rather than too little. Maybe it's true that for water it's better to get nearly the maximum rather than slightly more than the midpoint amount. But, it seems unlikely to me.
