  • That's not a swallow, that's a lemming.

  • That I'm actually married to a woman I love and who loves me.When I was 20 I thought I'd die a sad virgin. When I was 30 I thought I was incapable of sustaining a relationship.Turns out there are other people who are as broken weird as me, some of them are women, and one of them was the right one for me.

  • No, this is just AI slop.

  • That I like to dress like an old man now. I was always a jeans, T-shirt, sneakers kind of guy, but some time around my 40th birthday that changed. Now I wear dress shoes, dress pants that sit on the waist, and button-down shirts tucked in.It's cheaper because thrift stores and flea markets are full of those clothes, often never worn. It's just as comfortable and feels much nicer on the skin because it's all natural materials. The fashion around it changes more slowly. It looks good, and people genuinely behave differently towards me.

  • Non-rechargable batteries are the only possible solution for things that draw very, very little power.Like watches and clocks, smoke detectors, etc.Things where you replace the battery every 1-10 years. A rechargable battery wouldn't really make much sense in that context, even if it was possible to make one that lasts that long.

  • I'd much rather turn a blind corner and find myself standing right in front of a grizzly mother with her cubs than a hippo or a moose.

  • Now imagine this thing, but 2-3 meters tall, coming towards you. That's what living in the Jurassic period would be like.

  • Those recipe sites without a life story still exist. But Google won't show them to you.

  • YouTube is useless now for discovering new stuff. It's all top 10 lists with AI voices reading AI text that vaguely aligns with your interests but is designed to farm engagement. You like watches? Here are the top 10 reasons why Rolex sucks now.Interested in history? These are the 7 dumbest military leaders of all time. The only way to get anything out of it is to watch videos from creators you already know.

  • I know that, but what choice is there when the reindeer leave and Grandpa can't walk anymore?

  • I agree that few would choose that life.I still believe those who were forced to live that life led happier (if shorter) lives.

  • Computers run on magical smoke.Proof: When the smoke comes out, the computer doesn't work anymore.

  • People were happier in the stone age than they are in first world countries today.

Our brains did not evolve for the lifestyle we're living today.I sure as fuck would be happier out hunting, gathering and making handcrafted tools during the day, then telling stories by the campfire wrapped in a fur at night.Even if there's no toilet paper, I could get mauled by a bear every day, and if not, the tribe will leave me behind on the next migration when I'm too old and weak to keep up.

I'd rather live 30-60 years like that than edit another Excel sheet. Sadly, our "civilization" made that way of life completely impossible.

  • Don't worry, those people hate other Germans ("Saupreißn"= Prussian pigs), and visitors from Munich, the capital of Bavaria ("Isarpreißn" = Prussians living at the river Isar) just as much. There's a joke about how they call Asian tourists "Saupreißn, Chinesische" (=Chinese Prussian pigs).
