  • Sounds perfect to drop the kids off at school. Like, all of them.

  • Which makes sense, if course

  • Proves that all you need to be a successful founder is grit, determination, a good work ethic, and connections to a privileged family that can hand you the means to get you started.

  • You're not interested in good faith discussion, so literally fuck off!

  • You're American, aren't you?Politics isn't sports ball. Especially on a local level, it usually isn't "us vs them", it's a bunch of people with different opinions about how things are supposed to be done. Politics is more complicated than red vs. blue.Although the US "red" and "blue" parties do everything they can to convince people like you it's that simple.

  • German here. A friend from Grundschule (grades 1-4) is the son of Turkish immigrants. His parents both didn't speak German, so he struggled with the language. They also sent him to a Turkish language Islam school in the afternoons. As a classmate, I helped him with his homework, and I think I was the only German friend he had. When my parents bought a new PC (a 386!) I hauled our old 286 to my friend and helped him install games on it.Then I went to Gymnasium (the secondary school that prepares you for university) and he went to Hauptschule (the most basic secondary school that usually leads to a job involving manual labor, driving a forklift if you're lucky, or unemployment).

20 years later I met him again.I had failed to finish a university degree twice in a row and was unemployed at the time. It was still a year before I accepted reality and took up jobs washing dishes or cleaning out houses after their inhabitants had passed away.In the meantime, he had finished Hauptschule, switched to a school qualifying you for college, finished an MBA, founded an IT consulting company, hired 14 employees, married and had 4 children. He told me that with the computer my family gave him, he could do the taxes for his parents and learnt a lot about IT and business early on.

  • It's true. Add oats and eggs, and they can thrive.

  • what if when i go to work, i sometimes drive, sometimes walk, sometimes take a bike, and sometimes take public transit, depending on the weather or my mood? does that mean my politics changes each and every day?

The fact that you even have those options, as well as the weather, are affected by politics.

when i poop is that political?

Yes, when you do it at work.

  • No. I have ADHD and need external pressure to be productive.Working from home in my job doesn't signal that pressure. Most of the tasks that are assigned to me can always wait for another day.So at home, I mostly just browse Feddit. At work, I have people around me who can see my screen, and I can hear the issues my colleagues are having. And since a day of fucking around makes me feel more exhausted at the end than a day working productively, I prefer going to the office. The bicycle commute that wakes me up in the morning, releases stress in the evening, and keeps me fit, is a bonus.

  • Sounds interesting. If you trained your left foot to operate the brake, would it not be better to always use it for braking in an automatic? That way you wouldn't have to move your right foot over for emergency braking and could react faster.

  • This may be the only genocide in history where it's socially accepted to make fun of the victims.

  • potadon't

  • Do you live in a culture where most men smoke and women don't? Chew coca or kat? That could be a cause, from receding gums.Alcohol and diet could affect it as well.

  • Where the wheel is makes no difference. It just has to be opposite to which side of the road you drive on.What does make a difference are the pedals. On a manual transmission car, you use your left foot for the clutch, which is the pedal that needs the most fine motor control. And as a lefty, I also have more control in my left foot. So manual cars are actually set up for lefties. On an automatic, the left foot does nothing, so they're set up for right handed people.

  • Out of the box, KDE is superior for Mouse+Keyboard.Gnome is superior for Touchpad+Keyboard.

And Gnome requires you to adjust to its way of doing things, KDE lets you adjust it to yours. But if you "get" Gnome and are on a laptop without a mouse attached, it's a joy to use.The idea behind Gnome is to have everything maximized, use virtual desktops for multitasking, and switch between them using touch gestures or cursor keys in the overview.

If you find yourself installing more than 3 extensions, especially major changes like Dash-To-Panel, just stop and use KDE instead. I firmly believe most people saying "Gnome sucks" just want a classical desktop metaphor. Which Gnome sucks at.
