  • Do you have any proof of that because I genuinely have not seen that in my experience. Usually it's social security numbers, birth certificate, passports, and bills that I see as documentation in lieu of driver's licenses

  • Elon's stupid ass dedication to using cameras and image processing for self driving will ultimately be what leaves Tesla in the dust. A combination of LIDAR, cameras, and other detection tools are way safer than just cameras alone. I'm not a huge Mark Rober fan but he did show that you can beat Tesla's self driving with Looney Tunes techniques

  • Just a reminder that America does not have a national ID and that while most people think a driver's license is our ID only 71% of Americans have one. Children, the elderly, people who are too poor to have a car, or people who live in cities that don't need cars (which is like, 5 cities but is still a notable percent of the population) are all people who may not have an ID and all of them have been rounded up by ICE. This is a further attack on the poor specifically but on the vulnerable in general

  • I also would lean towards noodle soups. I like a Korean soup called Sundubu-jjigae that uses tofu and veggies. You could also use the dashi broth to make rice and now you've got seafood rice without animal products

  • My first thought is that making a vegan dashi should be easy. Put some dried kombu and shitake in water in the fridge overnight, then boil the mixture, strain the solids and skim any foam/particulates off the top and now you've got an seafood broth you can use for soups/pastas/etc

  • Admittedly I am neither an expert on space nor data centers, however I was under the impression that both shared the same 2 primary problems: access to equipment and waste heat management. Despite space being "cold" it actually acts more as an insulator than as a heat sink. I don't understand what adding air based signal latency and worse thermal management will do to fix their problems, not that I inherently think these problems needs solving
