Lots of people that aren't me are going to make the choice to purchase Apple hardware. Some of that hardware will eventually be sold, donated or gifted with many years of use left. Thanks to projects like Ashai, recipients of the second hand hardware can spend those years on Linux instead on Apple software.
I would much rather the original purchasers buy open hardware but until that becomes their priority there will continue to be an endless stream of proprietary hardware ending up in the hands of people who had no input on the purchase decision.
Maybe some kind of morality calculator. You could monitor the internal self report of every being capable of experience to see if there is something like objective morality.
