40ish white dude (he/him) from the Netherlands

  • Don't blame him, he was that kid in that ipad commercial "What's a computer?"

  • Some people are dealing with their smartphone addiction by going Dumb Phone.

  • Good! I was considering stopping my monthly donation. They better kill the entire "machine-generated" nonsense instead of just pausing, or I will stop my pledge!

  • Where can I find that frog?

  • Hier in Duckstad.

Fun fact, the Dutch voices for the original cartoon series for Huey, Louie and Dewy (Kwik, Kwek en Kwak) was done by one guy (Bob van der Houwen). The American producers didn't believe that, so they flew over to sit next to him when he recorded his lines to make sure it wasn't pitched up.

  • I've been wondering the same. It's been years. I live in western Europe. Could be an example of evolution, insects that fly higher survive more often, or climate change, there's fewer insects about.

It used to be a big issue, now the biggest issue is bird poop and lice excretions.

  • What's with the downvotes? Corsicanpuppy is right, that's how you abbreviate decades.

    The apostrophe denotes the removed 19 and 20, as in 1980s => '80s and 2000s => '00s.

  • Many great games have been created by 2-person studios

  • Fuck you for campaigning and voting for the orange shitler!

  • There are more iPhones in the world than Xbox or PlayStation.

  • Yes! You can call me.... The lawnmower man!

(I'm seriously dating myself with that reference)

  • I'm a series of tubes!

  • The answer is "yes".

  • How many holes does he have?

  • I was ahead with reading during Dutch class.

We often had classical reading exercises where one student is tasked to read a text and at some point another student would be pointed at to take over. I was a pretty fast reader at the time and class was soooooo slow, and I figured I wouldn't be called upon, because I had to do it the week before already, so I was ahead quite a bit in the text and there was 1 sentence that got repeated in the text.

You can guess the rest, I get called upon, my neighbour whispers the first few words of that one repeated sentence and I start reading from the wrong instance that sentence appeared. The entire class confused.

    Got me detention that day.

  • I hope they come back :)

  • The reason why I made my comment is because in the US some car manufacturers use the rear brake lights for the indicator lights too. Which is just stupid and dangerous and thankfully illegal in Europe.

It would be really stupid to have amber brake lights in the front. And given US car manufacturers track record, they'd be so stupid to repurpose the front indicator lights as front brake lights to cut costs.

Make it blue or green or any other color, but not amber or white. The amber color should only be used for the indicator lights, and should be amber on the front, side and back of the car.

  • Eww she smokes in bed?

  • That'll come over time. Reddit didn't start with all those diverse groups either. It was mostly tech based stuff with some news sprinkled in initially.
