  • I totally understand where this is coming from but I started on an instance that doesn't have down votes and moved to a different one because I wanted to see when I'm downvoted. More often than not it is because I was misunderstood and even if not, I want to know where I am. I remember a discussion where I later realized I was heavily downvoted and would have "read the room" better if I knew (time proved me right after all but I digress)

    I didn't know about the meme but for a while, YouTube recommended me reviews of the book Sapiens which tries to encompass all of human history, starting from evolution and everyone was like "I learned alot but in the field of my experience, it's garbage" and I felt like c'mon, don't you see the pattern
