Like reddit but feels like an actual community. Just be forewarned, there are angry troglodytes here, just like any other online forum. Keep the positive, ignore the negative. Many people say to block .ml/etc adresses as they are here only to flame, but I haven't seen that correlation yet.
When I was leaving Mexico after a few months down there in my RV I was diverted from my usual border crossing location (Sonoyta) to a much larger one (Yuma) ~40 min away. I had to wait in a 2 hour line to get to customs, and in that line I was inching forward next to the border wall. In this large city in plain view of everyone, mind you, I watched 4 seperate teams of mexican brothers get over the wall in under 5 min. The magic weapon? Rope 3 of the times, a jank looking ladder the last time. Billions of dollars defeated with a rope. The facepalm would send me into orbit rn.
CoPilot/Gemini Agent for mundane things like writing a test or a summary of a function. Honestly though with how often it's wrong, if you averaged the time saving against the time wasting, (either reviewing it's borked PR or scanning the description it's written in the IDE) it's probably breaking even. Meh over all.
I'm relatively new here, the only negative thing I notice is mods/creators reposting the same stuff every ~6-24 hours to make it 'seem' like there is more activity, which I think backfires more than not.
It's called 'a social club near you' and can be anything from tennis, climbing, hiking, even binge drinking. In all seriousness though, for an app like that to be profitable, i.e. for someone to build it, there'd have to be a (relatively) high subscription fee. Since everyone wants every app to be free, the apps that try that business model typically fail. Plus you get a chicken/egg problem, everyone wants to log into the app and see lots of opportunity, which won't exist for sometime given the literal paywall.
Finally got motivated enough to change the lock screen from other peoples photography to my own. Spend an hour going through shots and make a folder under 'Pictures' root folder called 'Lock screen', go to the settings for lock screen and select that folder as the slideshow source. "We can't use that folder so it was removed". Hmmm. Ok, let me add it to 'Documents' instead. Same issue. Hmmm, ok.... I hate it, but let me move it under c: - ok, it accepted it, sweet. Lock the screen, not showing anything... Hmmm ok, google it. Apparently it fails silently when it needs permissions. Hmmm, Ok... workaround is to select 'Photo' mode instead of slideshow mode, lock the screen. Ok, shows the photo. Ok, now go back to slideshow mode and it should work.
Wrong place for this rant I know but windows just seems progressively shittier over the years, if that's even possible.
"Look, I've worked with other vulture companies to convince them to get better PR by not being absolute soul-rotting evil all the time!" is not the flex you think it is, R.E. insurance compainies.
