  • in Lithuania we call commie block neighbourhood as "sleeping neighbourhood" since they were built far away from industrial areas where you would do your work and come back to sleep and nothing else. Many of these places also lack other infrastructure besides schools. But i agree with you on everything you listed

  • We are living in the most developed and peaceful tunes/times. Our great grandparents did not have antibiotics, child mortality was very high. Around 150 years ago, slavery and serfdom was hapenning, so instead of staring itno Outlook or Teams, you would be doing life crushing and dehumanising work. Much off the stuff that was out of reeach by lower or middle class is much more affordable today, even basic stuff such as meat was scarce in my grand parents time (ussr). 100 years ago most people saw only around 30 km around their land, or as much as horse could walk in a day, but now traveling is very affordable. I am hopeful that besides all the political crap we are moving towards even more developed future

  • American political system can very easily produce a new authoritarian leader, the president has much more power and with Congress majority can easily turn things around. The fact it hasn't happened before is a great achievement. Looking at everything Trump administration has been doing is to concentrate power at the top and to become new dictatorship. It wont be Trump, maybe JD Vance who knows.

    It depends on what the Americans will allow to happen, cause I feel that Americans are getting pissed harder each year and many large protests will happen. Is it going to be a wakeup call to become democratic and sensible again or full dictatorship only time will tell.

  • i bring them too. I can leave the main backpack in luggage storage or my hotel and pick the foldable backpack along with snacks, water, small camera. Much better then walking around with 10kg bag

  • Ziploc bags, they weigh nothing, but grest way to separate snacks and other stuff. I use them to store used underwear and socks if I'm on a short trip.
