  • Knowing poverty doesn't prevent magatism, and can actually be a risk factor for it, depending on the attitude the person takes. The idea that the "other" is responsible for all your problems specifically targets people with problems such as poverty.

  • This is why I joined this community, this is what will help get me through the next however many years of crap. No, I'm not proud of it, but I admit it. I'm a regular human, not a saint.

This won't help all the innocent people who don't deserve the pain and suffering they're going to be put through, but it helps me feel better whenever the people who caused it also suffer.

  • Fleabuch Maktplatz

  • Pretty brave for someone who flies so much.

  • I read it. It's a politically slanted article trying to link a TB outbreak with anti-vaxxers and magats, implying it happened because people refused to get vaccinated against TB, implying that the TB vaccine is even recommended or routinely given in the US, WHICH IT ISN'T, which I explained in my post with links to reliable sources backing up my statements.

You apparently didn't read either the article or my post, or maybe just didn't understand them. If you think I said something incorrect, state what it was and back up your statement.

  • Look at its widdle toes! 🥹

  • There is something like that on most Mastodon pages where if you are viewing it just in your browser rather than from within your mastodon account, you can click Follow and it will ask for the server name you want to follow it from, so you have to enter your server name, then it will auto-open it in your Mastodon account for you.

I don't know that there's much more anyone could do than that, since any given server you are viewing has no idea what various fedi accounts you may have. That's kind of what "decentralized" means--there's no central database keeping track of all your accounts.

  • Oh, to browse all the posts rather than just one account's, go to https://pixelfed.social/web/explore which should show pretty much everything. (that's the main server with the most users by far, and any other PF servers are federated with it so most of theirs should show up there as well)

  • We feel good.

  • Yes, you can follow a pixelfed account from your mastodon account and see their posts in your feed. Paste the url of their page into your mastodon search to bring up their profile, then you can view their posts and/or follow them.

  • Sorry to put a damper on your Schadenfreude, but this has nothing to do with any maga anti-vaccine laws. Although this outbreak is in Kansas, the TB vaccine is not used in the US, not even in blue states, except in rare special cases.

In the United States, BCG is only considered for people who meet specific criteria and in consultation with a TB expert.

    See https://www.cdc.gov/tb/webcourses/TB101/page7181.html and https://www.cdc.gov/tb/hcp/vaccines/index.html

(it's so irritating how people just lap this crap up without an ounce of critical thinking)

  • Yikes.

  • I don't think it's "ugly", but the first time I used that editor (with the new icons, that is--it used to have the traditional icons) I was like "Where's the damn Save button?" I had to hover over them to get the tooltips so I could tell. The Open button is just as bad--it looks like it would be Print!

  • Here are the icons in the default text editor in Mint Cinnamon. Save is the third from the left (the first 2 are New and Open).

  • Me neither, it looks like it should mean "download".

  • I copied and pasted the message and it was the same article. If you don't want to believe that, I really don't care.

  • Thanks for posting the text. I went to it again and this time instead of saying it was for paid subscribers only, it said I could view the article if I would sign up for a free account. I suppose they randomly pick one or the other approach, or maybe they try to get you to pay for a sub first, then try to get you to go for a free signup to at least get your email address.

  • No it wasn't free, I got that message and couldn't read it.

  • If it's free, why does it say "This post is for paid members only"?
