  • One good thing to come out of that meeting is that it is now totally clear with no doubt that trump was never going to support Ukraine. Europe and the other allies now clearly see that they can't trust or depend on the US again, at least as long as trump or a trumpian leader controls the US government. Don't despair because although it will be more difficult, with all the other allies' unwavering support Putin can still be stopped.

The meeting was a setup to put on a display demonstrating to Putin that the US is now on Russia's side. No matter what President Zelenskyy would have done, their goal would be achieved. By defending himself and his country against their lies they could call him ungrateful and disrespectful, and if he had not done that but sat and let them promote Putin's talking points unchallenged, they would portray him as confirming the Russian propaganda as well as being corrupt and/or weak. So IMO he bravely did the right thing, and it was not a mistake because no amount of capitulation to trump is going to get any aid for Ukraine from the US.

  • "God has a concept of a plan for you."

  • What's Delon J Mump gonna do? Fire the entire federal government? They should all stick together and no one should respond. They're going to fire whoever they want anyway--basically they started with those still in probation because technically they can legally do that. Next they plan to do it under some other RIF rule. Replying to it isn't going to save your ass. If no one replies, they can't sort people out by that.

  • The one on the left was obviously enjoying the situation.

  • I'll never fly again.

  • "admits" it was a ruse? No, it wasn't. He tried the same shit he pulled at Twitter and when it backfired, he made up a story about it just being a ruse. God, I hate it when the media enables the rewriting of history the new oligarch overlords feed them with.

  • <Fry-not-sure-meme>

Not sure if this is liberal hopium or right wing/foreign influence propaganda. It's supposed to be a liberal publication so the first I guess? But it seems more like the latter.

my interpretation of article: "Trump's approval rating has gone down by a few points. Based on this we will now leap to the wild conclusion that 'the coup has failed, everything is fine now', to placate you, dull your mind, and distract you from noticing that the coup has in fact not failed and is moving along at a high speed. So isn't it wonderful that the coup has failed? No need to go to any town hall meetings or demonstrations after all. OK run along now, back to work!"

  • I have a flip phone with a touchscreen so I can type via the onscreen keyboard. When I bought it I wondered how well it would work since the screen is so small, but it works great! So much easier than using the keypad. BTW it also has maps with voice navigation.

  • Walmart doesn’t let you use contactless pay unless you use their app.

By "contactless pay" I assume you're talking about paying by using a smartphone app? Obviously I don't care about that because the whole point of my post is that I'm not using a smartphone, so obviously I have no apps of any kind.

But if by "contactless pay" you meant paying with your debit card by tapping it or holding it near the card reader, yes they do have that like everyone else.

  • yes

  • I use a dumbphone. I'm not buying a smartphone just so I can play these stupid games, and I'm not installing an app for every fucking business I interact with. I realize there will one day be a point where I won't be able to do things I need to do without one, but until then I have no desire for one. Fortunately they haven't made the parking meters here require a smartphone yet.

My grocery store still uses loyalty cards for most discounts (which is irritating enough), but also has "digital coupons" that require an app so I can't get that. Theoretically I could go to their website and print them off but that's not worth the effort. I have to pay close attention to the price signs they put up because some of them say "with digital coupon" in small print, meaning "not for you, bitch". You know who doesn't pull this kind of shit? Walmart. So I wind up getting a lot of my groceries there so as not to be discriminated against.

  • Wait, but we're looking at it...

  • Hannity knows who his boss is now.

  • I can't find a place to define filters, only blocks for users/communities/instances. Does it exist in the default browser client and I'm missing something?

  • So, so tired...

  • I'm sure he's made sure that he still holds power over trump, at least financially and maybe in other ways like having the goods on him for crimes. So besides what he outright paid for, a lot of what Musk has bailed trump out with would be recorded as loans, so as soon as trump tries to shut him out, Musk could show the receipts and call in the loans, which would bankrupt and humiliate trump. God only knows what all kinds of shit he has over him but trump's behavior tells me it's substantial.

  • What Musk has on trump is that he bought him the presidency and bailed him out on a shit-ton of debt, so much we can't even know what all Musk has given trump, so trump as POTUS now has nothing to worry about any more--except Musk. In return Musk gets to pocket and funnel billions of taxpayer money into his businesses (and not to his competitors), incapacitate all the government agencies that regulate his businesses or investigate complaints about his businesses--all his problems have gone away and he totally owns trump. We need only watch how "Little X" can pick his nose to tell trump to shut up to his face during a press conference and trump sits there and takes it, to know this is how things are.
