  • Close. Esperanto speaker ☺️

  • Sincerely, what one can attend expect from such closed company...

  • Couple of kind-of-large projects in my nonprofit organization. I have learned how to manage them, so the ones will be easier from administrative point of view. I am especially looking forward for the project to bring longevity more into public.

  • Sounds reasonable. I do same.

  • Thanks 🙏

  • That is interesting! What is your way to figure out which therapist is a good fit in just 15 minutes?

  • First of all, congratulation for taking the courage and charge and going for therapy! That by itself shows your dedication and determination 👍

Already many excellent answers here by others.

I would add, that you may ask about the way how therapy in their version is supposed to work. Otherwise you may just miss the essence of their questions and the whole thing would be ruined. So asking at the very beginning may be super helpful.

  • Being seriously depressed for six years looks to me like a great reason to go to a psychotherapist!

I myself was profoundly burned out and in deep crisis of meaning for 2-3 years, and hardly functioning about anything. Now, in retrospect, I regret to not see therapist early. I lost 3 years of my life that I will not get back. Mostly because neither I nor my close ones could help me, not even recommend me a therapy... Finally I get out of it with lot of self-help. But I bet it would be much more quick, and even cheaper if I would have some professional help.

Best luck! Life can be wonderful and you deserve it 😉

  • What would world do without furries? ☺️

  • But seriously now. Looks to me that you are looking for the combination of thing you enjoy and thing that brings you money. That can be a challenge but also very fulfilling. I know it - I lead a nonprofit organization that I profoundly believe in - it or both hard and easy.

You may look some YouTube videos about "life purpose". I have a good experience with Actualized.org.

  • Just enjoying the job 😎

  • Context dependent..

  • I am always seeking how to provide most societal impact with my work. Writing Wikipedia is cool and useful. But as a one person I can only do so much work and only about topics that I am knowledgeable about. Wikipedia needs much more and better content, and of wider range of topics.

So I have founded an organization that helps other volunteers to write Wikipedia. The intention is that by doing so, at the end I help Wikipedia grow faster than just by my own writing. Organisation, if done right, has much bigger impact (even per capita) than an individual.

For similar reason I am thinking about founding a new organization focused on supporting longevity research and public awareness. I mean advanced medical therapies to extent healthy lifespan at least by many decades.

When thinking about what is going to have biggest impact on human lives in next decades, there are several things. One of them is the option to (if one decide so) live in hight vitality well beyond the age 100. Imagine hitting 80 with health of 40, or hitting 150 with health of 50. Sciencista are already working on that, and current people under 30, maybe even under 40, will quite probably have the option to take such therapies and possibly live a very, very (possibly indefinite, but finite) live. This will change a lot of thing in society as many current social contracts stay on the premise of leaving to pension in 65 and checking out at 85. You may be interested in !longevity@mander.xyz.

  • In the past I would write Wikipedia or translate libre software. Now I would work on developing Wikimedia and longevity organizations. Especially the engineered longevity have a huge future societal impact.

  • Killing should work for many tissues, especially those whose cells still divide. But for some tissues it is problematic. Killing senescent cell from muscle would make the whole muscle fiber to break. Killing senescent neuron could lead to loose of some cognitive or other function. So part of dealing with senescent cells is to modulate them so they do not vomit senescence associated secretary phenotype (SASP) which is quite annoying to other cells. Ultimately, we could rejuvenate senescent cells so they would work properly, but that seems much harder than other options.

  • That's the intention, but...

  • Yes, the trade is between having color hair or cancer.

  • Playing guitar and singing, recording music, hiking thru forests and camping there, swimming in seas, traveling space.

And yes, I am actively working to create a world where we do not have much bigger existential risks.

  • Happens every time. So annoying 😒
