  • This is probably my main issue. I have a technical problem, I provide detailed reasons why it is a problem, and propose solutions. I ask for feedback from the team, because I don't want to railroad people and appreciate multiple perspectives.

I'll try to be more succinct in my messages going forward, which are generally only 5 sentences or so. If this issue still persists I have another problem.

  • I like your style, internet stranger.

  • It may be my perspective comes from western civilization, but do Buddhists have similar child abuse scandals?

  • That is one of the things that makes lemmy unique - if you want to, you can spin up your own instance and make a community. It can even be the same name!

I am all in on decentralized social media at this point. I really dislike the ads, astroturfing, and fake accounts meant to boost brands.

  • I left reddit and deleted my accounts, post and comment history. I had modded a couple high sub communities there and felt it had become less friendly over the years. I initially joined in 2011 but only really started using it during the Digg exodus.

Lemmy feels like old school reddit. So I use it 99% of the time and only check some very specific subreddits when I need to look up something for work.

  • Every moment of your life, you have been traveling through space and time. Even in the time it takes you to read this comment, you have passed through vast distances on the rock we call Earth.

  • I was just asking a friend this last Friday. The party is led by out of touch boomers, backed by moneyed interests, and refuses to change. They'd rather not rock the boat or be the cause of a division in our society. Yet here we are, more divided than ever and growing by the day.

At least it wasn't by their hands?

  • """Despite claiming to stand for "hardworking American families" — who are typically considered to be a different category of human beings than woke Marxist transgender green-dealers, at least within the Fox Cinematic Universe""" 😂

  • This is incredibly concerning. I have elderly relatives that rely on Medicaid.

  • Let's take a bite out of crime

  • Probably with a combination of birth certificate, social security number, credit score, or some other identifier like tax records. Just speculating.

  • I'd like to see what study you based your argument on, because I've done enough reading that what you're saying doesn't ring any bells. I'm an atheist and as mentioned previously worked in the porn industry for several years.

  • I'm not an expert on the topic and don't claim to be. I only first learned about it by watching a youtube series by Terry Crews called "Dirty Little Secret" where he admits he had this problem and how it affected his marriage.

  • I wholeheartedly agree with you. I did not say whether it should be banned or made difficult to find - I was pointing out the evidence that is out there that it is a problem for some people.

  • I worked in the porn industry for almost a decade. I see no moral issues with it, but there is growing evidence that porn addiction is a problem for many.

  • Please look over yourbrainonporn.com.

There is plenty of evidence that some people struggle with compulsory sex disorder. Porn addiction can lead to erectile dysfunction. Many on the internet won't admit it and will down vote any discussion of the topic for some reason.

  • Yes, if it is a tax on speculation, investments, and gambling. I can get behind it being a trickle down system that the wealthy can't opt out of.

  • I personally really dislike new reddit and the Photon theme. I'd say no to any change to my main instance.

  • Did you even read the article or are you reddit-jerking over the headline?
