FediDB has listed the overall Lemmy monthly active users at about 45k for a while now. It's anyone's guess how many actual humans that represents, since the number includes bots and alt accounts.
That number only includes accounts that post, comment, or vote. I would love to know how many silent lurkers are out there.
Northwest US: smoked salmon with a side of berries. Sockeye with little or no sugar added is the best IMO. The berries should be native varieties if you want to try for authenticity, though the invasive blackberries are really tasty, too.
I think it was supposed to be Sidereal, which refers to astronomical measurements based on stars rather than the sun. But he couldn't even spell it right.
My wife's family once baked potatoes in the engine compartment during a road trip, just to see if it would work. Enough fumes leaked out of the engine that everything tasted slightly of oil and exhaust. Car engines are much tighter now, but I'm sure you still get a similar effect.

Pick a few Lemmy instances and look at their instance block lists. Compare the lists and pick out the commonly blocked instances. Within that select group you will find some radical free speech places where anything goes. Be warned that they tend to be cesspits.
Sometimes I miss the ol' switcheroo. That was a fun way to take a random walk through a bunch of communities I would never normally visit.
