  • Hilarious but we're gonna end up with a few weird things like jackfruit and bananas becoming vegetables. I'd also add that apples are only sauceable through maceration which really puts them into the same camp as squash like zucchini, and any root really like carrots or celeriac.

  • This is dumb, botanically tomatoes are a fruit doesn't preclude them being vegetables because vegetable isn't a botanical term at all. Tomatoes are fairly sweet but they have more culinarily in common with vegetables. Nutritionally I'm not positive but it's a separate issue.

    Regardless the supreme court decision was regarding tariffs/imports/customs which makes sense to classify it simply by the way in which people consume it. People eat tomatoes as a vegetable, just like we eat zucchini and cucumber as vegetables despite them all also being fruit.

  • As your friendly neighborhood person with knowledge about food and cooking, 2 pounds is an absurd weight for an uncooked rotisserie chicken, that is a very small and cooked weight, 4-6 pounds is going to be typical. Also, more importantly, you cannot cook something faster by increasing the temperature past a pretty quick point, meat is an excellent insulator. No slap can cook the inside of a frozen chicken unless the entire chicken disintegrates.

    Tbf though, a slap at 3700 mph would absolutely disintegrate the chicken.

  • The reasoning is that basically every president in the last 5 decades or so has used the existing laws that generally permit presidents to use military force without first getting congressional approval. If that were unconstitutional then the laws should have been changed, but they're allowed to stand, so it's basically not. It's a bit of a silly thing to try to impeach over. The precedence of that being constitutional is massive.

  • Waymo is also a silicon valley AI project to put transit workers out of work. It's another project to get AI money and destroy labor rights. At least it kind of works isn't exactly helping my opinion of it. Transit is incredibly underfunded and misregulated in California/the USA and robotaxis are a criminal misinvestment in resources.
