You use it as reverse proxy, to not expose your hosting servers (e.g. websites, Lemmy instances or what not) directly to the Internet. The idea is that they take care of a lot of security concerns for you, which can otherwise be very demanding if you are self hosting
I would love to see a competitor for the A1 mini, the prize while being hassle free makes it to me the perfect entry point choice, which I would use to figure out if that's a hobby I can stick to.
Moving doesn't cost more than a flight ticket, the question is more if you find a job in the new location. Just, if the US is really in such a bad shape as it appears, it might actually be easier to find a decent job somewhere else. Lots of countries around here are desperately looking for labor.
