  • Are you gonna be buying a Steam machine?

  • Not right now. I would like a Steam Deck for the portability but haven’t been able to get my hands on one so far (less inclined to buy a different option given the Deck’s repeatability/upgradability). Maybe in the future, if prices come down, but it would need to have games that make sense to play on a TV, ideally with friends or family, that I can’t play on something I already own.

  • I don’t know if mine is actually steam but having a machine feels like it’s been a good investment as a pet owner. Our dog is very good about going outside to potty but she does throw up from time to time and she will always try to find the limited amount of carpet we have in our house (I think it’s the closest thing to grass in her mind). Maybe it would be cheaper still to go rent a machine, but the convenience of being able to use it right away also has to be considered.

  • The best I’ve had has basically always been a recipe made in-house at a restaurant. Maybe there are some foodservice versions sold to restaurants that are good but with recipes that never make it onto grocery store shelves. I know Sysco has or had a decent Caesar dressing and I’ve never found one in grocery stores that was as good, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case with other dressings.

  • One potential problem: I don’t know how it is in the rest of Europe, but in France basically all mayonnaise includes Dijon mustard, so you can’t just use it straight in an American recipe. I did usually see at least one brand labeled “American mayonnaise” that did not include mustard, but people would need to be aware of the difference.

    I’d be curious to know if mayonnaise more or less always included mustard and it was for some reason stripped out of the recipe that made its way to the US (my guess would be the British having some role), or if mustard was a later addition to the French recipe after it had already crossed the Atlantic.

  • We recently moved and don’t have a fence up in our yard yet, so we’re having to take the dog out on her leash. My wife was walking her around the back yard and the dog was very intently sniffing the ground, following a trail that must’ve been very recent. Meanwhile she never noticed that about 15 feet (4.5 meters) away was a cat happily laying on its back and bathing itself. We’re guessing the cat is what our dog was snelling but she never saw it, completely oblivious.

  • Unfortunately it’s been 18 years since I was in Austria, and as an American who’d never had one before they all seemed good, so I couldn’t really help. I remember once my cousin took us to a pizza place that served both döners and the meat inside of dough like a calzone, but couldn’t tell you at all where it was beyond I think we were on the eastern side of the Danube.

    But please have an Ottakringer Blopp and/or Kaiser Doppelmalz for me the next time you’re in Vienna.

    We’re aware of the stunt that took place early this morning, when one of our community members entered the Punch enclosure at Ichikawa Zoo in Tokyo dressed in our mascot costume and carrying a teddy bear version of himself.

    First and foremost, we are endlessly grateful for the cult we have built together and for a community that continues pushing boundaries and creating standalone virality out of thin air.

    You’re built different.

    That said, with our Season 1 Create to Earn campaign going live tonight, we want to remind everyone to respect local laws and never put yourselves, others, or any animals at risk.

    Wild energy is part of the culture, but safety always comes first.

    We have reviewed the footage from several angles, and we are happy to confirm that no monkey was touched or harmed during the stunt. From what we can tell, the sole intention was to give Punch a fresh new teddy bear to keep him company.

    • Users can “unlock” the full 15GB of free storage by adding a phone number to their account.

    Seems they’re trying to get phone numbers this way. Maybe it’s for increased user data, maybe it’s to prevent fraudulent activity, maybe it’s to have more information to give authorities.
