  • "Hit or miss" is unfortunately not good enough for consumer electronics.

It means you're essentially gambling with bad odds so the business you're giving money to can get away with cutting corners.

  • This isn't unique to computing.

Just about all of the products and technology we see are the results of generations of innovations and improvements.

Look at the automobile, for example. It's really shaped my view of the significance of new industries; we could be stuck with them for the rest of human history.

  • Heck yeah.

Always a fan of more storage. Speed isn't everything!

  • Here's a suggestion that would show they care about their users and making the web a better place:

Give users the option to download firefox with adblockers pre-installed. Literally put them right next to the "normal" browser download and see which gets more hits.

  • Can't say I've ever seen an example of signed firmware that didn't exist to further exploit the working class.

  • That's not all. The US government exists to look out for the interests of wealthy americans.

Every dollar spent on a different nation is a dollar that could've been spent on them, in their eyes.

American business owners know that China is competitive because they can provide better products at cheaper prices. Americans would need to invest in making their products better or lower prices to compete with China. Both result in lower profits for owners.

This is why we will never stop seeing FUD against products that offer us a better deal than those looking to exploit us further. It's more profitable to convince useful idiots to "buy american" than it is to actually sell them products worth buying at competitive prices.

  • I mean, you can wager whatever you want but it's possible you're wrong. You people are blowing my words out of proportion, probably because you see the downvote ratio and can't formulate your own ideas.

For example, if you think I'm wrong without any information to contradict me, then you're also speculating.

You should take a break from these forums. It's clear you're willing to twist your brain into knots just to fit in with the popular narrative, and that's not healthy.

Gonna block you now. Goodbye, and good luck.

  • I didn't even say he wasn't killed.

I said, I'd wager there's a statistically significant amount of whistleblowers who are liars and end up killing themselves when their lie catches up with them.

You all blew it out of proportion in part because of the snowball effect and in other part because of poor reading comprehension.

The next generation is truly taking hold.

  • No, I don't.

    Do you?

  • The San Francisco medical examiner's office determined his death to be suicide and police found no evidence of foul play.

Do you have any evidence that invalidates this?

  • Discord has gotten way too big for its own good and only focuses on getting people to subscribe to nitro.

There is no excuse for them, just plain greed and laziness.

  • Well, all the evidence points to a suicide so you don't really have a point here.

  • It’s weird that you would assume malice on everyone’s behalf by default, what would they have to gain by it?

Can you read? I never assumed malice on everyone's behavior. I said a statistically significant amount.

  • Uhh, no. I didn't say it was true, I said I think it would be true.

If you equate that to "talking out of my ass" then you need to work on your reading comprehension.

  • Yeah, you're an enthusiast looking for enthusiast parts.

Try to understand that you're not the only people in the market or discussion.

  • I disagree. Legacy software and games can run through translation layers. We already do that with windows software on Linux.

Maintained software doesn't really have an excuse not to support ARM, unless the developers are woefully incompetent/lazy/personally biased against supporting it.

  • Weird, considering facebook does all the shit those other sites do.

  • It's just speculation. I don't know, I could be wrong, but I'd wager I'm right.

Do you think there's not a statistically significant amount of whistleblowers who are liars?

  • Do artists not deserve the right to decide who profits from their art, even if it’s posted to the internet?

No, I don't think they deserve that "right."

Would it be ethical for me to sell posters of artwork I did not create without the artists permission?

Ethics vary from person to person and change with the times. I think it would be ethical because I do not support the ownership of ideas.
