  • Most carnivore humans are b12 deficient.

How are carnivores at high risk for B12 deficiency?

    https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminB12-HealthProfessional/

Perhaps you mean the standard diet, which is omnivore and 70% plant based already, in which case yes - lots of people are under eating essential animal proteins and at risk for deficiencies.

And also at risk for cardiovascular disease.

I'd love to see a non epidemiological source for this. Especially in zero carb carnivores, heck even ketogenic people, not the 70% plant based omnivore that is carb loading and eating processed food all day. We know from early pre westernizationed health surveys of carnivore populations they didn't have CVD.

From my reading CVD is driven by inflammation and hyperinsulinemia. Zero carb carnivore fixes the insulin so the cardio vascular system works properly and can repair properly, and is very low inflammation.

  • Because the main casual conversation moved to piefed before tools like Lemmy federate had piefed support, so the user base got massively fractured simply because of lack of discovery across instances.

That costs a ton of momentum

  • Your experience matches mine.

  • We can't all be PhD Electrical Engineers with a focus on wave guides. Just friendly feedback the "Educate yourself" response in a forum puts people off, even the readers who you are not directly addressing.

  • Yes, someone asked for your references and you didn't link them. Hence I thought you copied the wrong url, giving you the benefit of the doubt.

If you intentionally linked to a search engine.... that isn't a great look

  • I think I could eat the whole thing, but then nothing else for 48 hours

  • If you haven't tried one yet, you might want to consider a elimination diet protocol for a few weeks. If your RA is exacerbated by some food compound it would reveal itself, and you could then plan your meals avoiding that.

I've seen lots of consistent anecdotes, and myself, diminishing joint pain and inflammation on a strict elimination diet.

  • Yeah the literature coming out on the metabolic brain connection, and improving metabolism resolving psychiatric disorders can't be ignored.

Given we are in a metabolic health crisis that is only trending up, it'd reasonable to speculate it has had a impact on larger mental health trends since the metabolic health collapse started.

I.e. 96% of western adults have impaired metabolic health.

  • If your having gut issues you might want to try a experimental elimination diet. Choose one bio complete food. Eat only that for a few weeks, see if your gut issues resolve. Then reintroduce other foods slowly until you find your triggers. There are some good books on doing this type of protocol, just choose a food with no known inflammation or intolerance

Also - if your optimizing, look at your last lipid panel take the tg/HDL ratio, if it's greater then 2 you have less then optimal insulin sensitivity and working on your metabolic health would have good dividends (probably mood and anxiety too)

  • Snoring is most commonly caused by ectopic fat in the airway, which is driven by a impaired metabolism (96% of adults). The good news is the body really does not want fat in the airway (or in muscles, or the liver, or in the visceral cavity), and this often resolves in a few months after fixing your metabolism.

I used to snore very loudly, extremely so. Doing low carb for a few months resolved my snoring (and many other things).. so I was still very fat but not snoring anymore. Which is a win.

  • Ohh nice! do you have a squat desk?

  • Standing desk, don't be static, change positions often.

If standing is a problem the saddle stools are pretty good

    PT/weight lifting really help.

Also metabolism has a big impact on joint issues and pain. If you have obesity, hypertension, snoring, skin tags, nafld, t2d, etc... they are all indicators your metabolism could use some improvement, and it probably will help your back too.

  • carnivore diet is dumb af.

    Why?

  • That's why I use self sealing stem bolts
