  • Ha! I was wondering why I couldn't access it. I had to manually switch DNS to cloudflare 1.1.1.1 to get it to resolve. I thought something fucky was going on with mullvad DNS. Glad to see it isn't just me

  • This is exactly what I was going to say. The news economy, and the algorithm economy, both depend on grabbing attention.

If you make a news article saying everything's a kind of okay right now, nobody's going to read it and look at your ads or click on anything.

If you say oh my God the municipal water boards totally f***** you won't believe what they just did, people are going to click to see what the hell happened. And then you say everything's mostly okay, but the commissioner wore a weird tie to the meeting....

  • I was waiting for the full on modem screams

  • That's a great writeup, thank you for sharing it!

I would just emphasize the healthy diet is more then just avoid sugary treats.

What does a good diet look like:

    • whole foods, from real sources
    • zero sugar
    • zero fructose (no juices, but eating in season fruit might be ok... This is whole foods again)

Metrics you can use to confirm your diet is good:

    • your TG/HDL ratio is less then 1
    • your HOMA-IR is less then 1
    • your fasting insulin is less then 6 uU
    • you don't have extra fat, muffin top, love handles, etc
    • you don't snore

I personally would recommend doing keto/low carb if you want to ensure you maintain long term metabolic health, but it's not a requirement

  • I don't like nutrek. I like old trek.

I watched section 31, and man... I really don't like nutrek.

  • the food was good, there was a show in the middle of dinner, nobody seemed to engaged in the show.... Some music that felt about 40 years out of date.

The entire building is owned by the NK government, so you were basically entering a tightly controlled slice of NK. Most of the serving staff were related to high political families and getting the Shanghai posting was a favor to them.

  • I've been here, it was interesting

  • Yeah, this is a real concern when trying to help someone fix a lifetime of neglect.

  • You do need it.

If your anything like me you end up with 200 terminal windows open on your desktop.

With a Terminal multiplexer you can attach to named sessions from any terminal open and get the correct context for long running things you care about
