  • It's not a "tiny" amount of money, this dude is the CEO who makes all of the money in the company and any money going to Nazis is problematic especially when the Nazis in question are almost fully funded by this CEO and yes the CEO is the face and moral driver of a company.

    Pretty ironic saying the company supports free speech when the biggest money maker is bankrolling a group that specifically gasses free speech and I doubt the other working there have even a sliver of speech that the CEO does.

    As for Conrad, you literally quoted him saying he won't vote for a government run plan but supports a government run plan.   • Wow, that's a bit of not understanding things there.

    One, it wasn't just that independent asshole Joe Liberman, though he was a major problem, that tanked the public option. You had Democrats like short conservative Democrats like Kent Conrad and Blanche Lincoln that simply did not like a public option and refused to vote for healthcare reform with a public option in it. And honestly the public option wasn't even ideal, M4A would have been better but conservative Democrats would openly bitch and revolt when that's even mentioned and Obama couldn't even get something as paltry as the public option passed within his party is not exactly what is be bragging about.

    Two, the public option that was proposed by the ACA was significantly different from the German system. The public option proposed by the ACA was going to be funded by the premiums alone, just run by the government to hopefully offer a better deal to help keep other health insurers in check with a larger base and negotiating power and it wasn't mandatory like the German GKV and based on income. To say the public option in the ACA was identical to the GKV is completely ridiculous and stupid to even say.

  • Notwithstanding, while I like Obama overall, but Obama gave us the boondoggle of a Republican plan that gave billions to insurance companies to screw over working Americans with high deductible bullshit that made us pay thousands for the privilege of paying thousands to see a doctor and still bankrupting us when we get sick. We were cockblocked by shitty Democrats who refused to get actual universal coverage by giving us a public option and prevented actual sweeping change like the New Deal from even getting a chance.

  • Algae has been a problem for that pool, which all pools suffer from not just this shallow oversized one. Previous administrations has looked into this and their contractors/experts told them that there are fundamental issues with the pool that includes foundational issues such as cracked piping under the pool and filters that ain't filtering right.

    HOWEVER, This idiot decided that he would give a no-bid 14.2 million dollar contract to a contractor that doesn't even do pools, just industrial waterproofing, and then had them just seal some cracks and put on a coat of dark blue paint. And you have to realize that dark colors absorbs more light and that heats up the pool water even more and you what loves heat? Algae. Now with the use of tidal water with the bad filters and pipes that are still leaking and pulling in nutrients/junk with a even warmer pool, well that how you get lots of algae.

    Maybe this is just Trump trying to get into the algae-based bio fuel industry in a 4d chess move but maybe he's just a moron.
