  • Been hearing this for the past decade now. Still awaiting that tidal wave.

Also, last Presidential election, that age group had significant swing toward MAGA so take from that what you will.

  • And we just had a post about how Linux has avoided enshitification.

Small changes driven by AI right now are hopefully being reviewed and controlled by experienced and knowledgeable senior developers, for now. Let's see how long that will last before they stop understanding what's going on in the kernel.

  • And none of that has anything to do with a competent administration letting the journalists know they're in heightened security mode and at least with the traditional media, they have a solid history of recognizing and keeping the information secret and not being on record.

What you're pointing out, while may be valid, about telemetry or compromised applications, which you have no proof of being a threat here, traditional journalist, whatever you might think about their quality and biases, have and continue to have the shown their integrity about keeping information and trust with sensitive material, even going to jail to protect their sources from hostile administrations from both parties. TM and compromised data really have no bearing on what this Administration has done here with not informing journalists and government officials of the Presidents plan to put them in danger.

As for the inclusion of right-wing influencers, well that's again on this Administration for including non-trustworthy "journalists" but even they are entitled to being told their lives are in greater danger due their plan to evade the threats the Administration brought upon themselves. If they cannot abide by established journalistic standards, that's on them and the Administration and should not preclude being a decent human being.

  • All of the AI Copilot ram.

  • So The Daily had a good podcast about this and they brought up the fact that this isn't the first time a Presidential detail has used a decoy, both Clinton and Bush used this. The biggest difference is that there was trust and understanding between the President and journalists and they were told about it before hand and asked not to report it and didn't leave them high and dry unlike this miserable excuse for a fat tub of balding lard.

I doubt this would be egregious enough for impeachment since they could easily say it was due to extraordinary threats and could point out that this tactic while extraordinarily rare is not unpresidented as this moron likes to say.

Another article about Clinton's decoy and being a decent human being about it. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2026/08/11/donald-trump-bill-clinton-switched-air-force-one-security/91254069007/

  • Just like the death of the Republican party, we've been hearing this too for a decade now.

Millennials will be the next biggest voting block! Gen Y is pissed and going to change everything in the voting landscape!

So far, not a god damn thing. I mean, we're not seeing record turn out outside of one single election and in the last election we even saw that millennials increased their voting share to Republicans.

They may be mad but they're the exact same morons as the rest of America.

  • Just another typical Republican living up to Republican Christian values.

  • I mean yeah, Mr. Miller here is just accurately representing the values of the Republican party at this point.

  • Condolences.

  • Nah, Fetterman is the kind of Democrat that leadership wants.

  • Awww... Racist, Incel, human trafficker got his latest victim taken away.

Playing the world tiniest violin. Maybe he should traffic a rural white chick next time and keep his job in America l.

  • He just couldn't grasp the BBC hard enough with his tiny ligitious hands.

  • After 30+ years, Democrats are finally showing some recovery from the BS that was neoliberalism.

  • I see you've been taking to Katie Hobbs!

  • Okay...Not really sure what you're getting at here. Great that you don't support being a racist against people who are Jewish, that wonderful? I mean that should be just the default position of any decent human being, try not to be racist.

  • That simply shows that this was a hotly contested primary that drew out voters in Deerborn, okay no real argument from here, I agree but what else are you trying to point out with this isolated statistic?

I mean okay, 2024 primary had a 24 percent turn out rate and the general had a 75 percent turnout rate while this 2026 primary had a 27 percent turn out rate overall.

All of this doesn't tell me much outside of the this we've both said other than maybe we'd expect a mild uptick in voter turnout in the general.

  • After two decades of donating and volunteering for progressives, hell yes this should be celebrated.

  • Hard to tell much of anything considering this is a primary vs a full blow presidential election but who knows.

  • Now in the grand tradition of Missouri, I'm looking forward to the Republican state legislature to pass this via a bill as is tradition just like when Right to Work was voted down.

“I remain committed to working with the General Assembly in the years ahead on ways to continue cutting taxes, growing our state’s economy, and pursuing conservative policies that help Missouri families keep more of what they earn,” Kehoe added.

Yup, nothing like thwarting the will of the people and the people continuing to vote in malignant idiots into office that run on thwarting the will of the people.

    Never change Missouri.
