Rather than using my mental agility to ignore something, I used it to remove that something instead. And that is much better.
Also, if I ignore something, advertiser wont get my money. So why would I ignore it if I wont be paying for this crap anyway? Just skip watching it entirely. Advertiser wont lose anything regardless of me using adblock or not.

So, you value your time but it is worth it to spend on watching ads? I am confused. Nobody glues you to the screen for the time video loads. You can do plethora of things during wait time that are much more valuable than watching/skipping an ad.
Users as in (office) workers. I cast a enormous doubt that there is no living person who chose Teams over literally any other messaging app just to use it for their main way of communication outside of their workspace.
I wish and I am accumulating contacts on Signal as of late. But removing WhatsApp is impossible off my phone. Literally everyone are using it around here and I wish they wouldn't.
I'm with you but I also can see them useful to a degree. Children often want to get games from steam/nintendo store/EGS vbucks/etc and parents really do not want to enter their credit/debit card data everywhere under the anxiety of child abusing that card. Gift cards solve this problem.

I get it that tech people stumble upon these sites much more often than non-techies. My point was that if your parents are having website issues every other day (which implies they are not tech-savvy), then why would they even visit sites that are not FF-compatible. How many sites out of all the web do you think are not compatible with FF? Give an example of a normie site that wont work well with FF.

Been using FF since 2022 and the only sites that wont work are the ones that utilizes HID. Are your parents trying to flash custom firmware for their phones though browser every third day?
We do not build gaming PCs here. But imo selfhosting hardware related questions should be allowed. All about NAS, HDDs/SSDs, computers and abilities of CPUs for selhosting purposes, what OS to pick for which tasks - imo all these fit this sub.
There is a big influx of newbies/normies lately. Many want to escape paying for expensive and useless subscriptions and are willing to host their data and tools locally. People do have these questions. No need to gatekeep selfhosting. It should be a welcoming community.
