I am the developer of Summit for Lemmy.

  • I made this mostly for myself to try and my SO took a piece. He said it was great and gave it a 9/10. I like it a lot especially givne how easy it was.

I think it's pretty good. I think I could be slightly thicker (ie. Higher "filling" or what ever you call the non-ladyfinger parts ratio to ladyfingers).

I honestly didnt realize that all of the coffe flavor was from dipping the ladyfingers in the espresso. I think if I made it again I would try to keep the ladyfinger in the espresso for a second longer just so they can absorb more of the espresso. I'm a huge coffe flavor lover so I would enjoy a stronger coffee taste.

  • Here's the cross section!

  • Maybe I should do that next time. I don't have an espresso machine either and just used instant espresso haha

  • Trying to get a release of Summit (!summit@lemmy.world) ready. I've been trying to catch back up after taking a month hiatus about 2 months ago and still playing catch up.

Been ignoring the community for too long so after this release will need to go tend to requests and bug reports. It's a lot of work :/

  • Thank you!

  • I'm just blocking all political/news communities on sight. It's helped a lot.

  • There's like trillions of microtransactions tho... Its so bs

  • Ah so BDSM then /s

  • Kind of. A lot of my stuff is also on battery and the security camera and router is on UPS so during a power outrage I still have access to cameras, per room sensors and all the door and lock sensors. I would say ~50% of devices are still accessible.

  • Hook it up to a UPS and it basically has 100% uptime regardless of internet connectivity or power. I love how resilient it is.

  • Maybe you're an adsurdish.

  • Clearly your cat was just trying to find the treats you hid in the bread /s

  • I used this Nuoc cham recipe:

    • 4 1/2 tbsp white sugar
    • 4 1/2 tbsp fish sauce
    • 3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
    • 3 tbsp lime juice
    • 1/2 cup water
    • 2 birds eye chilli or Thai chilli finely chopped
    • 5 cloves garlic, finely chopped

    Directions

    1. Add all of the liquids into a sauce pan.
    2. Heat on low and add the sugar. (Can use high heat but just be careful not to boil it too much)
    3. Continue heating and stirring until the sugar dissolves.
    4. Turn off heat. Add chilli and garlic.

This recipe makes a nice nuoc cham that has a kick to it. If you can't handle spicy reduce to 1 birds eye chilli and discard the seeds.
