  • I have been using YouTube DL.

  • oh my god I love these kitties so fucking much they’re too fucking cute

  • Only using Mealie as a recipe manager at the moment. Haven't used the meal planner function. Sounds interesting though and might give it a try.

  • Economical, environmental, ethical. How can it be used responsibly when the Earth is burning and making it required pilfering the sum total of human knowledge and creativity for private profit?

  • I prefer a GUI when possible.

  • Oh yeah I gave up trying to run LConnect on linux a while ago. I then looked into alternative tools people have made, of which there are a few and they seem great, but none of which (when I looked last) support my specific fan models. So my current solution is Windows 11 in a barebones VM that autostarts. It literally just runs Lconnect and nothing else, and the only things passed through to it are the USB controls for the fans. It has allowed me to at least control the colours, and screens, though not fan profiles or stats.

  • Off the top of my head, my case is a LianLi O11, but I was talking about my case fans, which are... Oh lord, their naming is so obnoxious, the... TM LCDs I think?

  • I've got some LianLi case fans that aren't supported by anything Linux that I've been able to find. I run a barebones VM just to control their features.

  • When I was starting out with selfhosting and stuff, I had tons of issues with networking, reverse proxies, etc. And much of the advice here was not... particularly helpful. I genuinely don't think most people here understand how much they know, and how much comes across as gibberish when they speak to a true newbie. I still see it in this forum all the time for new people. Just the other day someone described themselves as a total newbie, nothing more than Jellyfin running on a Mac locally, and a comment I saw suggested their next step should be running proxmox and setting up VMs and this that and the other service. Like... that's not a good next step.

  • This is just so blatantly anti consumer. Like, who other than the ISPs themselves are in favour of this?

  • My partner and I quite like Mealie. It doesn't import 100% perfectly like you say, but it does probably 90% of the work.

  • Not a single disc, but there's been many games released on multiple discs for generations. As recently as FF7 Rebirth.

  • It's both.

  • It's currently in the courts in multiple countries. The accusation is that Valve has an unwritten rule that Steam must have the best retail prices. For example, Ubisoft, who runs their own platform, could not sell Assassin's Creed on Steam for $60 and on Uplay for $50.

This would make some sense from Ubisoft's position, as they don't have to pay anyone a commission on their own store, and customers may be willing to come to them for a lower price than Steam. In this scenario, no Valve infrastructure is used for the Uplay sale.

So, again, the accusation (currently unproven, but alleged in court) is that Valve strong arms others into not being able to do this. Still it for cheaper on your own store or elsewhere that takes a smaller cut? We're gonna kick you off Steam.

This is believable, because Steam commands a dominating user share. So the threat of losing access to those users is very powerful. It's also believable because people don't become billionaires by being ethical.

However, naturally, Valve denies this unwritten policy exists. The cases are ongoing.

  • They also profited like crazy from under age, unregulated gambling and did nothing to very little to curb it.

  • Thanks for checking! I looked at their website but couldn't find this comic. Didn't know they were on Bluesky; now I can follow!

  • Has this comic had its artist credit removed? It looks like Extra Fabulous to me but they usually sign theirs.
