Eh. Not really very effectively. Misskey does a half decent job of talking to Mastodon and Lemmy, but Lemmy and Mastodon do a pretty poor job of talking to each other and I think Misskey is more compatible with Lemmy than Lemmy is with Misskey, if that makes sense.
Okay yeah, but this specific text is talking about a place no one has been that's already populated, not the general concept of discovery.
Like if I say "I've discovered David Lynch", that doesn't imply that anyone other than me hasn't seen Twin Peaks. If I say "I've been watching a director that no one has ever heard of before, his name is David Lynch", I'm just wrong.
This specific quote doesn't say discovered, though. It says that no one had been there before, which implies that the people who are already there are no one.
At the time "man" was often used to reference the human species as a whole. Like, when they'd say something like "the dawn of man" they were specifically referring to the earliest humans regardless of gender.
Obviously this is not particularly representative of roughly half the species, which is probably why it's less common today. Taking that into consideration, though, TNG's intro is arguably more colonialist than TOS.
Yeah, there's a version of using AI to help with coding that's more along the lines of cobbling together pieces from tutorials to figure out how to do something and making it fit your needs rather than just straight up asking for code and blindly adding it. It's obviously not going to be as good as code from someone experienced who's managed to internalize the relevant documentaion, but it's at least informed by a human who understands what it's doing
Libraries are very much in line with anarchist ideals like education and sharing resources, and are pretty counter to libertarian ideals of private ownership and non-dependence. I would imagine that librarians would be valued by a society that cares about autonomy and mutual aide.
Any time I go to Webtoons on my phone I see this. I guess maybe it's technically free? I don't really trust any app that tries to force itself on me though. Usually they want something, whether that be pushing ads or selling data.
Oh, cool! It's a great comic! I've always found it suspicious that Webtoons links are paywalled while authors have free access on their own sites, but I guess that makes sense if it works for the artists.
It's like what people seem to be going for with "you could so much better if you just applied yourself", except it's actually focusing on what's good instead of drilling in the idea that you've failed and it's worse because you should have been able to do better. On the other hand, maybe the specifics would be a little more on point if they were thanking the cloud for the rain that makes their garden grow rather than trying make it be something else.
