  • thanks, you're right. using the term ASPD does indeed seem wrong and harmful in this case.

  • i saw and still see a bunch of random chinese cheapass usb devices (mainly hids like mouse) proudly stating their compatibility with Linux 2.4 and Win98SE (wtf)

  • maybe. but imo extreme wealth hoarding is usually only possible/successful by people with little empathy who exploit others around them

  • lemmy, hackernews, some local forum, everything else via rss

  • honestly the distro is not going to make much difference unless you go to some special distro that runs off the ram (instead of the ssd) like tinycore or porteus

the de/wm matters most actually, in this case i'd recommend icewm, xfce or lxde.

  • i did have some glitches and switched away from it to gimp eventually but your issue kinda seems different from mine. are you on x11 or wayland? if x11 are you running a compositor like picom?

  • i haven't ran it for some time, there were minor issues (iirc window autoraising glitches?) with my window manager (fvwm) and i just switched to gimp full time because i don't use any advanced features.

  • markor on android seems pretty good for me, have you tried it?

  • photoshop cs6 was indeed great, it does run fairly well on wine tho

  • same, chromium is much faster on a core2duo..

  • i used to keep instaloader to periodically scrape a few accounts from instagram for archival and viewing, however i got frequent 'suspicious activity' alerts and ended up being banned (got asked for face scan or some shit)

i believe barinsta (android foss client) also triggered their bot detector quite frequently back when it was developed..

may i ask how it's been with kittygram? it looks really nice, i'm hoping this can replace imginn for my usage

  • from a quick look it seems like a lua program with not many external dependencies, perhaps it could already run on termux. guess i should try

  • i just yt-dlp with termux and view it on vlc, might be not so user friendly but it works

  • i think you can view tiktok links without an account, i've gotten links to tiktok/instagram videos a few times and they all worked with yt-dlp

  • interesting, it seems like debian 12 bookworm itself will still continue getting security patches from LTS

i had to check because i still have a system on 11 bullseye (actually, Devuan 4 chimaera) and it still seemed to get patches. seems like i have two months left..

  • there doesn't seem to be one on lemmy.world, which instance are we talking about?

  • lol no. as a korean this was very intentional and obvious. it couldn't have been llm output unless the prompt explicitly mentioned their intention to mock the May 18th Democratic Uprising.

  • yes quite regularly. i wouldn't be here otherwise.. this place feels much less toxic than most other places online too.

though tbh it does feel like an echo chamber sometimes. i tend to agree with far too many things i read here compared to other places.

  • i wasn't really thinking of bots acting as humans on discussion sites when writing this comment, it was more about crawler bots and such
