I don't care for those, not enough pressure for me to effectively wash away soap.
I start by rotating for even heating.
Soap my hair facing away, rinse it facing.
Wash face facing.
Conditioner hair away.
Step completely out of the water to quickly scrub neck to feet with soapy loofa.
Facing to rinse hair/face.
The rotating and rinsing top to bottom.
Done. In and out in 5-10 minutes depending on how dirty I was, and therefore how hard I had to scrub.
I used to use a valve on the head itself to turn off the water completely during scrubbing, but I didn't get a new one when I moved so I got out of the habit.
I ran into one of these a few weeks ago trying to serve papers to my neighbor. They rang my bell to ask about him. Crazy.
I'm no snitch, but I did confirm some guy lives there, but I don't know anything about him 🤷♂️
Which also happens to be mostly the truth. Couldn't even tell you the guys name.
I see them knocking on his door every few days or so, still haven't got him.
But I AM a snitch when it counts, I definitely called the police on his girlfriend for drunk driving before.
She came home, struggled to get up the stairs, struggled to unlock her door, and then complained loudly to her cats, yelling, describing how drunk she was to them. Then 10 minutes later I heard her door again, by the time I got to my window she was driving away. I dialed 911 immediately. Unfortunately nothing came of it 🤷♂️
I use mine at least once a week these days, used to be almost daily for a long long time. Light skin and very dark hair, I get 5oclock shadow before noon.
I used to rinse the blade real well, then hit it with a hair dryer for 10 or 20 seconds, blow all the water off and heat it up so it dries extra fast. Never rusted, blades lasted forever.
These days my tap water is almost 130f, so I just rinse it real good, get it hot, then I shake the crap out of it, and do a single reverse swipe on a towel for each side. Seems to do the trick for me 🤷♂️
Though early on I went through a phase of buying vintage Gillettes, and spent an amount of money on different soaps and brushes and such.
I spent WAY less than some others have, by a wide margin. That, I know for sure. But still, probably a bit over $200 in extraneous accoutrements over the first couple years.
Eventually I settled on a Feather Popular, gives a dang fine shave for like $20.
Then my buddy talked me into getting an AS-D2 at the same time he was getting one. Cost $150, which is crazy, but it's solid stainless steel. The thing will outlive me a hundred times over.
It's my daily driver now, and I've settled into one soap, all in all I'm very frugal.
Don't know how long it'll take to recoup my costs lol. But it HAS been 10 years since I got my as-d2.. That's $15 a year.
I feel like compared to cartridge plebs, I'm still ahead of the game 😁
I'm vaguely comfortable in the terminal.
I installed a fresh version of [your favorite distro] to do some quick work on a spare PC. The default file manager wouldn't connect to my NFS share, some weird error.
Instead of tracking down the problem, I just fired up the terminal and mounted it manually. Quicker and easier.
Stuff like that.
But I could never imagine being power user enough to prefer one terminal over another. You guys are discussing features I barely understand let alone have a preference on. I only just recently added sudo !! to my repertoire!
I'm mixed on this. If it's a serious movie, then I agree wholeheartedly. It's not funny and it breaks my immersion.
But if it's a more relaxed or even funny movie? Bring it on, the more subtle the better, I love hearing it, always gives me a chuckle when I'm in a chuckling mood.
