I find curating the collection quite relaxing, so I agree there. I have all the automation set up for new media that's not released yet, but the other main benefit I get is using it as a search interface for multiple public and private trackers without having to visit any external websites.
Now the system's still going to crash at 3am but nobody will know why. His skills aren't obsolete, they aren't being valued for that they are. The demand still exists, but their market value has plummeted because of abundant AI substitute. But what happens later if the substitute doesn't measure up?
With this many PCs, just for the fun of it I'd set them up as Kubernetes or Proxmox, passing maximum storage to one of the guests as a NAS. Then your hardware is pretty flexible for the future.
I started with FreeCAD 1.1 a few weeks ago, with virtually no CAD experience. Because I screw things up and change my mind a lot, the parametric approach has been rewarding.
