  • And now a white man. But more important than race or gender I think people care more because they were US citizens and were murdered in broad daylight. Their murder and rape of immigrants is being done behind closed doors. Sure a story leaks out here and there but we lack the visceral impact of a video.

  • I just put my desktop on pika, its nice. Maybe a little better performance than stock Debian in games, but i could be imagining things.

I like the bird sounds it uses as system sounds. Drives my dog crazy looking for whats making tge sound.

  • That would be epic.

  • Didn't consider that. I could not in good conscience do that. I'd go as far as a Punisher tatoo, they love that shit too.

  • Yeah that was one of my fears. Not the courts necessarily, I think you could put together a good defense if you worked with a reputable reporter to leak. Its more I would feel so ashamed if someone I knew saw me suited up on the news. Even if I wasn't the one busting skulls.

  • I kinda want to sign up for ICE just to record and leak everything that goes on. I don't think I'd be able to stomach a second of being around these Nazis though.

  • Yeah but only Sega has Mega power and blast processing.

  • It is in this boomer run, fuck the environment world.

  • I'm usually thinking about minotaurs or hoagie sandwiches.

  • I feel like I go through the whole alphabet of options before giving up and rtfming.

  • I do too. Its pretty good but I feel not as good as search engines used to be. Though through no fault of its own. I just think garbage sites have paid for SEO and clog up results no matter what.

  • Idk how anyone searches the internet anymore. Search engines all turn up so I ask an AI. Maybe one out of 20 times it turns up what I'm asking for better than a search engine. The rest of the time it runs me in circles that don't work and wastes hours. So then I go back to the search engine and find what I need buried 20 pages deep.

  • Its a minisforum hx90g. Its got a pretty beefy cooler and two decently big fans. I never hear it under my desk or on the TV stand.

  • My coworkers think I like building computers because I tinker with so much stuff, but no that doesn't seem super exciting to me anymore. I have mini PC with a laptop CPU and GPU in it. I like it quiet, small and power efficient. It is feeling long in the tooth these days but I haven't seen something with enough of an upgrade to be worth it.

Recently picked up a used office PC to throw a GPU into. Mostly because ram is so expensive and it cost less than buying ram itself but also because I'm lazy and don't really care about PC building.

  • Wealth the president dropped on us from a fighter jet?

  • I knew of Tesla and SpaceX and I'd vaguely heard of him but didn't really care so I wrote him off as another rich asshole immediately. Then I had some friends raving about him going to Mars and saving the world. I almost bought in but within a few weeks of that happening he called the guys who rescued the kids trapped in a cave a pedo just because he couldn't use his sub. That started my hatred of the man.

  • I just bought a used HP office computer basically for the 32 GB of DDR5 (only 5200 but I'll take it) on eBay. Just gonna throw a 9060xt in it for now. Combined its a sub 700 build. I'll probably swap it to a new mobo and case next year as the power supply is a little underspeccd and I believe the HP pinout is nonstandard. Maybe I'll just jam a flex PSU in there and pin the cables to match.

  • Check out the Superchunk cover of 100,000 fireflies.

  • I've been collecting vinyl for close to 20 years now. I didn't mean to but bands and labels were just trying to get rid of them in the mid 2000s so I got a dozen or so free records when preordering CDs. About half of them were not on any other format at the time so I got a record player.

So I mostly listen on that when at home or use volumio as a multi room playback system to stream off qobuz or from a local library on my NAS. I did get into cassettes during the pandemic and do find them rather entertaining.

Favorite band is easy, its Guided by Voices. As for why I can't really say except that they rock. You have to be able to see the brilliant uncut pop gems through the lofi tape hiss. Pretty much all their best stuff sounds like a first take demo tape.
