  • I agree with you but in defense of the image in front of us, they still show atoms in the rest of the photo. I take that as the representation of “reality” and the commentary as being more about perception and not some alternate reality.

  • Everyone is saying great ideas. I would like to add that as someone’s physical fitness and “beauty” declines rich people can use money to compensate. Whatever the myriad of things they want to fill in their life like to remain relevant, smiled at, and feel like they are in control and worth being respected. You can buy people to smile and serve you. You can find other sickos that respect your money power. Etc. just one aspect of already greedy foundations. Some people just can’t handle the idea of quietly hanging out in peace.

  • Same for the most part. There was a period of time where it seemed like every post and comment was angry. Silly fights over semantics. That still happens but it seems like less. I see more and more English speaking European influence. Still lots of angry Linux guys but Linux seems to be in a winning season so it’s chill.

  • I gotta add to this the app Brightintosh. It kicks up the screen brightness to the actual max brightness of the screen so a good 2x brighter. Major dif using in bright environments, less screen life and color accuracy theoretically

  • Girlfriend broke up with me so I proceeded to buy a $900 motor scooter (fast mo-ped). My best friend also wrecked it and bent the front wheel after owning it for approximately 30 minutes. It did not bring all the girls to the yard but it was fun!

  • Hoodwinked is a good one. I remember being 10 or so and watching that in the theater and being soooo overwhelmed by its wackiness and fast-pace. It quickly becomes obvious it’s sort of a weird self aware movie, much like Shrek!

  • His personal system is MacOS but I know he works on windows at work. I believe ZFS is an option. I guess, the easier the better. Something that isn’t a ginormous project. I suggested a home server with Truenas, just because that’s what I have. I don’t want to send him down that route if there is an easy option he can just buy and go and be satisfied he met at least RAID 1 safety net.

  • Thanks. It’s intimidating writing a post and what’s unnecessary info. Here’s some more! He deals with high resolution video and photos so speed and higher bandwidth is definitely a priority. Upon speaking to him he seemed to have a natural interest in a raid 1 or more option. I think this is just from surface skimming reading. I know he has 2 disks now ready to go. I think his ideal world is a disk that shows up on various computers as a single disk. He works probably 50/50 MacOS and Windows.

    He is not IT tech literate but is certainly capable of learning and taking extra steps or guides, if necessary.

  • I agree. The Clinton’s had some heavy baggage and a straight old white dude would’ve been interesting! Idk if he would’ve won but simply having his platform endorsed would’ve changed history. He was just as angry as Trump was. If only Harambe didn’t die.
