Yeah, phone to laptop, and I recently synced all backups and files from an old phone to a new one, too. Once you have the computer setup, you can basically connect phones by reading its QR code.
If the official Syncthing Android app is giving you a hard time, maybe try Syncthing-fork? IIRC that's only the daemon and web GUI wrapped as an app. But I've used the main app only for the past few years.
Is this Great Sellout in the room with us right now? Because Meta did implement an open protocol into Threads, but it has been widely blocked by other ActivityPub instances. That is not a "sellout".

You're already free to support developers and instance owners financially if they've set up either Patreon, OpenCollective or LiberaPay 🤷 That's money going where it's needed.
If I understand SubClub correctly, it's monetisation on a user level, which in the past has only really given us influencers. I rather enjoy not having that kind of bullshit on the fediverse.

Whoever decided that a logo should be standardised as Unicode? That is the worst criterion for picking a symbol that has and will have hundreds of other uses than inline text. If it's so important — work to have the current, pentacle fediverse symbol included in Unicode.
Registering a domain to introduce your dumb idea with a lot of empty bravado leaves you with ... an annual bill and a dumb idea. The pentacle symbol is so much more recognisable.
Post stuff others will want to boost and follow you for. Engage with others in a friendly and generous manner. Have fun, there is no algorithm to game.
The notion of being "discovered" and (implied) launching an influencer career is... probably a long shot on Mastodon, where people enjoy shitposts more than celebrities.
