Does nobody isolate ffmpeg and friends from their application?
I can't imagine you'd have much fun breaking into a container that terminates the moment the original ffmpeg stops, or over-runs its max execution time..
The module in each door is actually a cost saving - All you gotta send to the door is canbus/linbus, power, ground and an optical cable from the headunit for (potentially) an in-door amplifier.
Enough range to handle my 340km round trip with the A/C on or in the snow.
Not a disgusting soft blob with a cheap strip club interior (looking at you mercedes) or a brick shaped SUV (looking at you Hyundai, though the front ripping on the Rangerover is quite handsome)
Just give me a premium-ish feeling sedan from a boring brand. Why can't I buy a small, fully loaded ford or citroen or hyundai any more?
I mean seriously, just try ollama with lfm2 on a macbook with the current NPU.. Why the fuck would I pay these clowns to run that process elsewhere? Why would I pay for model access when they've plateaued and open/free models are everywhere?
I don't think absolutely every sharp edge needs to be sanded off everything. I think certain things should require proficiency to be considered a learned skill.
Computers are still a skill, and we sanded the edges off until it was playmobile pieces rather than a productive work tool.
I wouldn't dare call myself an accountant even if I can competently file things. Why do people think they understand computers when they have reading comprehension failure and can't understand the computer is telling them what they need to do? These people don't know computers, they barely know windows. They were always going to have to learn something.
I dunno man, I'm not a slopjockey so I don't know the minutiae of the addiction.
All of our devs appear to have M5s right now. All of those copilot+ laptops have NPUs too.
