  • A Singaporean woman was the first person I heard refer to their opposite-sex partner as "partner" back in probably 2010 and I adopted it. I had a pretty skewed idea of marriage as a kid and it instantly changed my thinking.

Your spouse SHOULD be your partner. You're on a team facing this big stupid world together.

  • The lines they've set with their piss borders need to be refreshed but they absolutely have declared areas that others respect the boundaries at risk of getting attacked.

A wolf occasionally crossing that border - either deliberately or because the scent wore off - doesn't change the point that they're making. It's not like they put up a physical fence.

  • Yes because it doesn't change the author's point in the slightest

  • Partner sounds corporate...?

If anything, it sounds more scientific

  • Michael Jackson never had a childhood and as a result had some clear psychological issues.

Given the evidence (or lack thereof), I'm inclined to think the dude just wanted the childhood he missed. And no one shared the same excitement for it as him than actual kids.

I sure wouldn't have wanted to hang out with him if I was his age.

  • Just say partner. It's a better description of what a marriage should be AND it's gender neutral

  • It also ignores the gender imbalance of a lot of hobbies. You know how many women I've met at the RC field? Two. The wives of two pilots who just come to hang out and enjoy the weather lol

  • Yeah, they went through a few different sounds and that was their party era.

  • I picked that one in particular because it has some of the same jazz elements that I liked about Maruja but their EP and two albums are a bit all over the place (in a good way imo)

  • Came across Avalon Emerson recently with the song Written Into Changes but nothing hits that same vibe. I like some of the other tracks but this one really does it for me

  • I had a similar experience after hearing their song Saoirse.

Check out the Irish band Bricknasty

  • That whole album has the same vibe as Tubthumping

  • Sure but we don't live in 30 years ago. The Wright Flyer is a crappy airplane and sticks are crappy weapons, too.

  • Maybe it is cool but my point is that old storage tech offers no benefits to what we have now. It's not a bad thing when technology is superceded with zero compromise

  • Only if it's vinyl or CD. The only thing in the pro column for any tape format is the kachunk of the buttons

  • A couple years ago on reddit I saw a post lamenting the death of....the minidisc.

Old portable storage tech sucked. Good riddance is right

  • Obviously it'd be dangerous regardless but it got me thinking....does a chimp have the fine motor control to operate a firearm?

  • It totally sounds like caribou.
