  • true. it provides better defense stats. i guess that's better than if everyone has better offense stats because otherwise you'd have constant warfare everywhere (if attack is cheaper than defend).

  • ghosts are like fungus in the timber, sure you can replace every part one-by-one and they go away, but miss one and the smell won't go out and re-infect the whole house. so it's not really worth it.

  • it does check out. the CO2 travels from the cells through the blood into the lungs, where it is exhaled.

    so technically what you exhale has a slightly higher mass than what you inhale, because it has an additional carbon atom.

  • you do realize that the walls were only around the town which was 1 km² maybe and like less than 1% of the total land area and especially no walls were built around farmland. also there were hardly any nomads anymore in medieval / early modern europe. (except if you're referring to the mongol raiders.

  • that makes a whole lot of sense. In german we have "Burg" (fortress) which describes a castle, sorta. And since many castles were actually some kind of mini-town to protect the people of the nearby land area in case of a military attack / siege, you could think of it as a walled town. so Burg -> bourgeois.
