  • International nationalism. It's just a divide and conquer strategy being pushed everywhere. Some places like Spain, Ireland, and South Afrika seem to have an international push against it but a lot of the rest of the world have only local resistance to it at the moment. At least from a an english readers perspective. I hope in other languages there is more opposition.

  • Talking with people in tech the path is go remote, go international, and then go abroad. With people talking EU, south East Asia and some Central America. Just depending on ethnicity or culture they grew up with.

  • pre-commit hooks are fundamentally broken

  • Ehh each tool it's job. Wanted to agree but pre commit checks to keep secrets from entering the graph makes sense at every level for me. Anything that is too keep the git DB itself clean goes there. So if you have Conventional Commits standards precommit checks make sense. Checks for secrets. Tbh that's the furthest I've done for a precommit.

    Pre push is a good place to start any orginzational checks though. Pipelines for tests and smell checks or anything fuzzy really (can normally be seen by maintainers in the merge requests). K8s (like fleet, argocd, etc) for ops checks (is this running, is the service accepting requests, etc).

It's not always true, but total disregard almost every company with cases of proven forced labor of innocent people including women and children it's easier for me to write it all off as fucked up to buy. It's also all made to breakdown into known toxic waste soon enough to force you to buy more soon.

  • Children's toys like games are limited in their function and scope. I don't think that makes playing with them sad ever but it can be more rewarding to make things with less constraints some times.

    I feel like Ive been playing less games now that games turned to hobbies turn to a career in which I can try to solve complex problems in more creative ways.

    I still play with blocks, little puzzles, games, etc though, so again a hard cut off doesn't really make sense to me.

  • Tbh Ive had some joy using K8Gpt and I'm kind of excited to try Liz for my Rancher stuff.

    To me though, RAG AI is good as a semantic search at the moment but you really should check with your own eyes and not assume the convincing string machine has any actual understanding about what it is saying.

    Does help though when your eyes are bleeding and your troubleshooting something youre just not sure where to look.
