  • Ahh, no no!

Not suppress it, but force it out. Kinda when you feel it coming but it's "stuck"

For suppressing it, I'll press my tongue hard against the roof of my mouth. Works most of the time

  • For me it's just looking at something bright.

  • My guess is trap, check at the vet, give them the needed Vacs, Neuter (the most important part) and then release.

  • *battery powered blender...

But yeah, you're right. Goes without saying that one should try to evict as many leaf-tenants as possible beforehand.

Would be nice if there was some timeframe where this is safe for most wildlife

  • Also, when you want to remove them (partially or in spring), just mow them and leave the mulch. Easiest cleanup, good for the plants and wildlife

  • ... You ever tried clearing a yard or whole garden overgrown by wild blackberries for years?

God, they're delicious, but they are EVERYWHERE, regrow as soon as you turn around, and you either are very slow and careful or get hurt a lot. Nasty little suckers, those thorns.

I'd guess OP has the same trauma as me

  • Wasn’t there an announcement from proton a few days back to possibly move their data Centers out of Switzerland because of this?

  • Ahh, another perfect chance to link to my favourite role model of history: Roland the Farter

  • The cat might know your name though! Cats learn the names of other animals and humans in their household.

  • Not really related to selfhosting per se, but two things come to my mind:

    • Anytype is kinda like obsidian, but with a different approach. Every object is of some type and those can be searched, filtered etc in collections and sets - based on tags, attributes, … IIRC there even is a pre-made type „bookmark“ for links and documents.
    • As of a workflow: for stuff like this I really feel that a „simplified“ GTD-approach works best for me - dump everything into an „inputstream“ as you encounter it and process this on a daily (or weekly) basis; prioritise, tag, remove it
  • Do you fill your cereal bowl with a garden hose? How does it travel with such a velocity that it spills out the other side? 😂

  • Stop right there, criminal scum

Cereal has to go before the water!

  • Those that are made from this mesh-stuff like that „premium“ Lipton shit? Yeah, I wouldn’t use them. Afaik, paper-teabags are safe?

  • Sounds like that guy who made a sandwich from scratch: growing wheat, raising chicken etc. He said it was „okay“

  • When you’ve got no fancy coloured markings on your, you gotta help yourself? 🤷‍♂️

  • tolerates?

  • Oops, better watch out about that last statement you made there!

  • Always remember: This too shall pass

This got me through the worst nights. This, coffee and a large stock of favourite candies/snacks. Don’t worry, the sleep thing gets way better soon, hang in there!
