  • More and more I'm seeing blatant lies in marketig, which wasn't as prevalent a few years back - at least not through mainstream advertising companies.

    Don't get me wrong, these companies, products and adverts existed since the beginning of the internet but we're usually shunned enough by advertisers that you'd only encounter them on sites that... couldn't use your average advertising networks. Say, porn sites. Which, to be fair, are still chock full of "grow your dick 6 inches in 12 days" kind of ads...

    But the fact that Facebook, Google, Amazon, and even Microsoft are getting away with pushing the exact same scam ads - but now wrapped in almost reputable looking companies' branding - is what I find blood-boiling.

    Every single social media is now full of this crap. If it's not dick growth pills, it's magic anti-hairloss solutions coming from some sketchy manufacturer in China that disappears within 3-4 weeks (and of course they upcharge for the "3 month guaranteed success or your money back" guarantee), the various dietary supplements, most of which are absolutely unnecessary for most people but they'll push it with absurd claims, or the workout apps that promise to take you from BMI 40 to visible abs in 12 weeks, or the various dropshippers that sell "miracle" inventions that are available literally on Amazon for a fraction of the price (and even cheaper on AliExpress), or the sham weight loss products, I could go on.

    I just find it insane that previously respectable companies are now milking the snake oil "business" so hard and nothing is being done against it.

  • I'm not so sure this is legit. Most of these things would've been from the 90s and early 2000s, at which time Trump wasn't nearly as far as depicted on this condom. Also his whole "yuge" thing came out in the late 2000s, early 2010s, so I don't really see it being on condoms before it became a thing...

    But I also use specialised filaments for certain things, and most of those do leave an oily residue on the print plate, hence cleaning regularly.

    Rights are a societal contract, an agreement between the people of what one might do and what one might not - and of course what the repercussions are for doing something that one is not allowed to.

    For something to be intrinsic, it has to exist naturally - such as, your hair colour, skin colour, etc. would be intrinsic. Rights aren't.

    And yes, in fact, it IS the government's role to determine the rights of people (legislative branch), ensure that people stay within those rights (executive), and provide a commonly acceptable interpretation of those rights (judicial).

  • That wasn't the point though... -40 to 80 is the APPROXIMATE range a person would want to describe in terms of "oh it's twice as hot/cold as yesterday", which is the whole point of the exercise, not to determine at what temperatures humans use protection against the weather, because guess fucking what, we protect our bodies even in optimal temperatures and weather conditions! Or do you walk around fully naked when the weather's just right?

  • Wiping with alcohol between a few prints can help with adhesion but does not remove the need of cleaning the plate every 4-5 prints properly - as you've said, dish soap, a good scrub with a soft sponge (I've actually dedicated a separate Dishmatic for this purpose), rinse, repeat on other side, then dry with microfibre cloth, should do it for a good few prints.

    Spray of 80-90% ISO with microfibre cloth between every print can help reduce the need for a proper clean, but marginally at best.

    Wash yo plates!
