  • Oh my god this is so true

Makes me so irrationally angry especially when the person in question keeps cutting them off halfway through sentences

Ex used to do this all the time

  • But at least if you use Linux you'll prevent the death of some poor Microsoft employee someday when you inevitably want to throttle one of them

  • I unfortunately learned the vegan community here is largely hexbears, made the fatal mistake of commenting on a post there (as a vegetarian)

  • Got adblock and yt premium, that way the creators I watch still benefit

Also especially if you get a family plan and split the cost it's really not too bad, £5 a month seems pretty reasonable to me for yt plus music

  • I don't think clientside anticheat is a good solution by any means.

Built in multiplayer cheats? Isn't that just pay to win?

  • I think people misunderstood my comment, I meant I think the ddosers and the cheaters are more or less the same group. Don't imagine the majority of people in the Linux community would think that's a good way to get rockstar to listen

  • Cheating is absolutely not the same issue as piracy though, one is people wanting an unearned power trip over others and one is the service issue piracy is

You're not gonna convince cheaters to stop cheating by offering them a better experience

  • That's what I mean, I imagine most of the people ddosing are cheaters, hence the quotations around protesters

  • I'm pretty sure there's not a valid reason for players to be able to spawn giant Ferris wheels in people's garages, that seems like a fairly easy one to test for

  • I'm upset they nuked Linux support, my PC is Linux and have a steam deck

I'm still not going to fucking ddos them for it

  • They're kinda proving rockstar's point, I am fairly sure the venn diagram of "protesters" (ddosers) and cheaters is more or less a circle

  • Ah, had thought the obvious thing for them to go for was copyright because of the obvious similarities

No reasonable person looks at palworld pals and doesn't see the heavy similarities with pokemon

  • As much as I don't like Nintendo's business practises to be fair in this case many of the pals are straight up copies of Pokémon with one thing changed

Definitely a good case for Nintendo here, not sure this is a winnable battle even without the overwhelming force of Nintendo's ninjas

  • I'm not arguing good vision is not important for general survival, but I think hunting has a higher ceiling of usefulness for good vision than anything else humans did in that period

  • I would argue there that there's a limit to how much better eyesight would affect things like that though, falling over and dying

Using that example if someone's vision is like an old CRT they might not see a root or something, trip over and die. If they have 1920x1080 they might see it if they have 4k they definitely see it.

Hunting however can benefit limitlessly, the further away you can see the better you can track

  • Not sure what your mean by it doesn't work that way

If men were predominantly doing the hunting, women would be more likely to choose a more successful hunter (more likely to pass on their genes if they have a better mate)

Also in general the ones who were better at hunting and their mates would be more likely to survive long enough to have children

  • What's your sample size, do you actually talk to many gen z

If you asked them where they saved a photo on a smartphone they're not going to tell you a filepath because that's not how people use smartphones. I probably couldn't tell you where photos are stored physically on my phone without going out of my way to find that info

Also Google photos is a valid answer to that question because the file is saved in Google photos, just because it's cloud storage doesn't make it not storage. In that case local storage is basically just a cache anyway

  • That's a conscious decision though I said someone who doesn't know

  • It's a pretty good indicator. If you spend all day working with computers chances are you'll be able to type quickly
