Prediction markets have outperformed CEOs for decades and still haven't replaced them, for the same reason WfH hasn't replaced offices. Everything is a monopoly or oligopoly now, with no need to efficiently maximize profits. It's entirely a matter of control.
To organize I can go in to work and talk to coworkers about pay and their stake in the company. I don't want "our democracy back" because it hasn't been ours for my entire life. We need major structural changes and can't go back to how things were.
I'm not going to unilaterally lose my job to be the only guy protesting on Monday. When you're homeless, absolutely nobody will give a shit if the police murder you. I'm going after their money.
So if you're in Maine or Alaska, then it's already time to demand it federally from candidates?
