  • Pretty much this. ASA will still warp a little but it has half the shrinkage of ABS, is UV stable, and it gives off a lot less voltatiles while printing.

  • I am running at 2.5g. Ethtool confirms it and in the screenshot I just added to the OP, you can see my max transfer rate is around the 280MB/s that I expect out of 2.5g. The behavior is not network speed limited.

They are talking about bad performance on the NAS side though with openmediavault- which I don't have, when I boot into Windows on my main desktop there is no performance issue with the NAS whatsoever. Whatever I think is going on with mine it is debian (client) specific.

  • Support gap too wide, causing model to lift off the supports- Or the bottom and sides warped up, causing them to bow inward and buckle that thin section.

    I agree with other commenters, this seems like turning it 90 so the back face could sit flat on the build plate would likely have a lot better results. If that is not an option, lower the support Z-gap and increase the support interface layer density/decrease line spacing. Make sure your filament is dry. Decrease your cooling fan speeds.

  • 100% this. Ive been through 4 different cad packages professionally and every single one of them is terrible bad awful garbage. Pick your flavor of garbage and get with it.

    After a few months of forcing myself to learn it, FreeCAD really isn't that bad. It's miles better than Creo.

  • Most vehicles made past about 2004 are all ethanol safe up to maybe E20. You ideally shouldn't, but e15 won't ruin them.

  • The technology is sound and the drawbacks are massively overblown by the fossil fuel lobby. But Old style monolithic nuclear doesn't make any economic sense in the modern world. The regulatory system in most western countries plus mechanical complexity doesn't allow for it to be built in any reasonable timeframe.

    SMR's might make a decent dent in decentralized grid situations tbh. Otherwise it's going to be everyone holding out for fusion to magically get its ass into gear.
