  • District gerrymandering.

  • Aaand bye bye any intent I ever had to donate again. Fuckers.

  • I guarantee all the original damage would have occured no matter the quality of the liner. The Presidental limo is north of a 20,000lb vehicle. It has higher ground pressure than a semi truck, and any amount of low speed turning is going to generate a ton of tire scrub because of the special high load wide handling tires they use.

  • Tbf maybe people aren't visiting reddit as much because they can't open or view anything from the search engine without an account? And if you make an account you're gonna get randomly banned sitewide a week later for existing wrong?

  • No but it is trivial to use email spoof/temporary email signup sites to get the verification email. You won't need it again except for a password reset, which you're SOL on if you do it that way.

  • There's a drought on, watering grass is a total waste

  • Hell, even if it was cured, I guarantee those vehicles destroyed it. The armored vehicles the president rides in are insanely heavy, heavy to the point of them having ground pressure same or higher than a semi truck.

  • So glad to have Weiner fighting for gay rights ✊✊

  • ASML is Dutch.

  • I've used "darling" a lot, especially when I was dating a non-binary person.

My current gf and I use "goober" or "goobie" a lot as an old inside joke thats just part of us now.

  • I don't know about the 3000 series but when I went from a 970 to my 7900xtx, my old Linux kernel physically didn't even support it's basic VGA mode and I had to swap distros to get it to boot. That was like years ago and an old version of mxlinux though, so I doubt you'll have that issue.

  • Something tells me thry won't be using them specifically for school shootings.

  • to bring down Medicare medicine costs by 600%, 700%, 1500%?

Only half lie. Percentage was correct. Direction was not!

  • Sausage as your protein option in pasta is severely overrated imo. I do it a lot. The savory/umami it brings is a good counter to tomato acidity.

You have to make sure you drain the fat off the sausage though or it'll kinda separate the sauce and be all weird.

  • If the drone falls out of the sky and hits someone, that sounds like the fault of the person choosing to fly it in a densely populated area. Drones have hardware failures all the time.

  • I wouldn't call CF a total scam, the dimensional stiffness (not strength) improvements are very real- but they are very much the wrong solution for the vast majority of 3d printers.

  • The death of any soldier is a tragic event. They are at the end of the day just a human being who had wants and desires.

Sure, there will always be some select zealots who really did sign up for "the love of the game", as it were. But the vast majority of almost all enlisted or conscripted forces are a bunch of regular folk who are either forced into this by desperation or necessity, or fed enough curated propaganda that they think they're doing the right thing- and don't know any better.

This applies to even the worst countries, US, russia, even Nazi Germany; most of Germany's troops in WWII were a bunch of scared kids scammed by propaganda or forced into the service when Hitler's back was against the wall.

And that's really the crux of it- That soldier died because of their leader's actions, and that's where the blame should lie. Lemmy's insatiable dehumanization of most "colonizer" military forces is frankly downright disgusting.

  • Interpolation, even at the highest settings, has a limit. If multiple data packets from the server are missed in a row, either due to the server hanging or your internet choking, the client basically gives up on guessing where everything is and the world pauses.

As soon as it gets a fresh game state from the server though, it then has to reconcile the paused client game state (wrong) with the server where stuff kept happening (right). It does that over the interpolation interval to get back in sync, so the world appears to run super fast.

That basically never happens today because of how far hardware and connections have come. It can, it just doesn't. And I think they've improved the netcode's stability a lot since the olden days so the server doesn't hang nearly as much as it used to.
