  • Here is the thing, I don't think they are driving towards a cliff. In olden times, reddit was one of several options for doomscrolling, with Slashdot, Digg, et Al. When Digg shot themselves in the foot, Reddit was ready to take up the slack, so eternal September happened, and Digg essentially withered away.

    At that time the combined user base of these sites was probably an order of magnitude less of present day reddit.

    I believe that reddit has achieved critical mass, and they can pretty much do any shit they want. They may lose users, but they'll be a drop in the bucket.

  • Organic is kind of a scam. At least not what people imagine. What you want is floor raised, or even better, free range. And grain fed. In every country the definitions are slightly different. Look into it. What you want is hens that are out in the open, so that they follow natural day cycles, that can move around a bit, and fed grain instead of feed, which is often made from fish flour and such.

  • I think The Pacific is a way more brutally honest series than Band of brothers. I would put it in the same bag as Platoon, Apocalypse now, Full Metal Jacket, true this is fuking war stuff . Band of brothers has a bit of USA, USA! thing to it. Also the fact that it claims the taking of the Eagle's Nest, when it was "La Nueve", who also liberated Paris, BTW, pisses me off. La Nueve would make such a banger of a miniseries!

  • I watched Battlestar Galactica based on the good reviews. Frankly, it sucks. Not a half effort to do props (Marlboro cigarettes FFS?!), more holes than a colander, sophomoric moral stories... It has rave reviews. I may give it a 6/10 if I'm feeling generous.

  • The Ethernaut is brilliant so far. It helps that the look and feel is so non-standard, it has a real life vibe to it, the acting is superb (Ricardo Darin is so underappreciated outside Spanish speaking countries), the pace is not hectic, and allows developing characters and story. 10/10 for me.
